Powerleveling

Hello there,

Is powerleveling possible on Phoenix ? I remember in beta it wasn’t really worth it because the lowbies would only get a limited amount of xp.

Question: is It gonna be still like this on live or will it be possible to powerlevel lowbies ?

I attempted to test powerleveling on a necro and thought it didn't work all that well.

Maybe a large camp with dot class like cab/shaman/etc could be effective. And probably duo like cab or serv necro plus cleric would be good.

But from what i have seen the fastest xp is a full group of people roughly the same level at a good camp, maybe moving around to get bonuses.

Would be good to have a staff member comment on this, how the server is set up to handle xp distribution when it comes to a lowbie being in a group with high level players

I think you can find more details on the Wiki and reason from those settings whether it's worth it.

I think in general, if you manage to either kill a load of yellows/oranges as a duo (dotkiting?) or chain reds/purps in a larger group you can mimic powerleveling, but you'll always simply stack capped XP on your twink. You won't be seeing ridiculously fast leveling this way I think, but definitely faster than the regular XP pug if you can be consistent.

Basically from what i can tell everyone gets the xp of whatever you con.

So the 50 kills yellow or orange the greys get xp for yellow or orange, maybe cap.

So it isn't particularly faster xp than being solo, assuming the low levels can kill at roughly the same speed.

I was on a pain necro doing the pl chaining oranges or maybe 2-3 yellows at same time in lyonesse. Xp "sucked" according to my 2 ple's.

I could also do like 5-6 blues and it sucked too. When i say suck it is subjective as that is what they were saying.

Not to be doom and gloom, you want to take advantage of the bonus in each group from each separate class, you want to move camps a lot and get tasks, you want xp items. If you are solo tasks are where it is at and xp items. So if you do that xp is solid here. And I'm sure if xp is too slow the devs will listen to player feedback-- they really do listen to the players and do a good job of working with us.

There is at least one massive pl spot with ellyls just outside of snow. Not sure if it got removed, but there was tons of pl going on during beta.

Need more test but from what I tested in Phoenix vs uthgard power leveling is bad on this server cause power leveling is based on "base XP" and farm thousands of sames monsters. XP on this server is bonus oriented (XP items personal task and full group bonus 5% per class... Here Base XP is around 3 time less than original server... A LVL 50 need to kill around 2 or 3 times more monsters to power level mates at the same speed than normal server... So don't count on power leveling on this server.
But powerleveling is not definitely dead.
Maybe in 400+ days...cause There is on this server realmwide pve task giving 1% XP bonus each 5 days ,,(permanent cumulative) we need at least around 100% permanent bonus on base xp to have correct base XP and can powerlevel.

Maybe devs can do something to help powerleveling (like a /mentor command to give mentor XP bonus to low level mate ) but I think they don't want cause they want this server to be group leveling the only fast and easy way. Hopefully group and solo is more friendly on this server than original server making XP not too long and boring.

The best way to do it would be to level normally and have your collection task items ready to hand in.

You just PL yourself by using XP items and playing the game normally. Especially when comparing Uthgard to Phoenix it's like a super PL lol. And you don't need a special class. And you don't need to pay for it. You just play your char and lvl about 100x faster than Uthgard.

Honestly with all the exp bonuses, challenge mode, etc, the exping was significantly faster in this server as long as you group and socialize, which is one of the bases of a MMO. So just play your style, group up, have fun and enjoy the game.
