Any way to predict what realm balance will be like?

I almost always play Hib but I know for Uthgard it seemed that Alb was always lagging behind in numbers. I know it's probably difficult to predict but anyone have thoughts on what the realm pop will look like?

For the 3 day "pre launch" where you can create chars to move them to a spot / register your name we'll provide some way to see how many people (accounts) created characters in a realm.

Historically, Midgard has pulled ahead in RvR before the other realms. Albion should have a high PvE population and initially struggle at RvR. Hibernia is close behind Midgard at RvR, but its population ends up falling to last place.

It is reasonable to assume that these trends will continue, though hardly guaranteed, given all of the custom server changes to progression and class balance. Two other major swing factors are competitive guilds with high member counts, and the emergence of zerg leaders. If one realm gains a high concentration of these, they could dominate.

It will be Hib > Mid > Alb. Book it.

i also believe population from back then will not be representative...

back then Albion was always fielding huge Zergs, but on average had more casuals, since it was the basic appeal to middle age fantasy back then.
On phoenix the player base will consist 90+% of hardcore DAOCers that are influenced by a myriad of other reasons.

I also think Hib will be quite popular, even though I dislike the huge travel time to email Hibernia has the most appealing classes imo.
Best small manning capacities, OP Bards, baseline stunners, etc...

midgard is a close second and has the bonus of email-port

Albion has some cool classes but "the paladin problem" deters melee players and many people from "back then" still have the mindset of albion=noobrealm (which is of course ridiculous but still is ingrained in certain minds).
On the other hand it seems that there are already some nice community organizers and event leaders settling in Alb which can have a huge pull on people.

All in All we have to wait and see, predicting the populations is like predicting the lotto numbers. And more important than the population numbers are the really good set-grps and when they run. (for example: when you only play Tuesday and Fridays and on Friday also two really good Hib premades run then your POV will be shifted towards Hibernia being very strong, even if they have the least numbers and are really weak when those premades are not playing...)

Will prob be Mid > Alb > Hib

This is due to an experienced player base now understanding the strengths and weaknesses in a classic setting.

Mid = Easiest to get strong RvR Groups...melee strong in this setting.
Alb = Classic setting, most fleshed out realm..always popular. Easy camps to exp farm cash
Hib = Underdog, those who like a challenge. Tools don't scale as well against experienced players with maxed out templates and meta specs.

I don't believe people will play a realm just becuase it's the strongest. Not anymore.
Sure some people will do that but not the majority.
Following the poll, i think it will be quite balanced. Can't know for sure since about 5x more people will (hopefully) play live then those that voted

Wrong, melee was nerfed hardcore here, it's all unpredictable (also think there will be massive rerolls once ppl who rolled nerfed midgard melees realize this)

I will be Mid Melee (Zerker) because that's what I do and what the guild expects from me.
