Better than 100% quality drops like Galladoria?

The quality of player-crafted items varies based on the difficulty of the recipe being crafted and the skill of the crafter making the item. There is always a random element to crafting! There is a small % chance (capped at 3%) that any particular crafted item will be a masterpiece and be a 100% quality item. These MP items usually fetch a high price when you find them on the market explorer in the housing district. Usually, a cheaper alternative is to go with 99% quality items, which are both more likely to be crafted in any one go and are also priced cheaper than MP items.

Or just simply answer your question, no.

Thanks for the info. I probably should of worded the question better though. Will a player made 99% or 100% quality weapon out damage a Galladoria equivalent weapon? Is player made armor better for protection? I basically don't want to waste time raiding dungeons if i don't have to....

Protection and damage are based on item type, level and quality, so in theory a crafted piece of lvl 51 armor should offer the same protection as a piece of dropped lvl 51 armor of the same type and quality. Where they can be different is in the utility (basically how many imbue points the item has). Considering imbue points, drops can be better than anything a crafter can make and have a much higher utility. The advantage of crafted items is that they can be spell-crafted, whereas dropped items (including ROGs) cannot.

The main difference is that dropped weapons and armour have procs that player crafted cannot have.

Items of equal quality are the same whether crafted or not. The benefit of crafted items is that they can be tailored to your needs.

iirc you can't even utilize the full dps of an MP (100% weapon) until RR5+, could be recalling incorrectly though

before RR5 the cap definitely is lower.
iirr 16,2DPS before / 16,5DPS after

but I also believe that quality is applied after the cap, so a 100%weapon is already slightly better before RR5 (I could be mistaken though)

You are correct. 16.2 cap from RR1-4, 16.5 cap from RR5+. 100% is 100% regardless of level or RR. Most people will be just fine with 99% armor and weapons. Only the most hardcore of the min/maxers will go 100% everything. If you can afford it the place that you really should concentrate getting 100% in is your weapons. You won't really notice it in your armor.

I agree, the main reason for MPs is the extra utility via spell crafting allowing to cap all resists easier. The actual difference in protection isn't a deciding factor

And on a somewhat related note - I think I read somewhere on this site that gems don't have to be 99%/100% to drastically lower the chance of B00M during imbuing an item. Is that correct?

But the item % still matters in terms of how many points can be imbued on an item(32.5 vs 37.5 99% vs a MP) Is this all correct?
