Why is Archery blocked 244% compared to Melee? (144% more than Melee. 2.4x the archery block rate compared to melee)

I saw the patch notes for today and tested it out.

Was this change even necessary? I know that the Scout zergs are ridiculous, but this change is too much for any Archer. Even with an unspecced Small Shield with 305 buffed Dexterity (on a Ranger) I was blocking 24% of the attacks from another Ranger while testing. That's nearly 1/4th of the arrows shot at me, WITH AN UNSPECCED SHIELD. Compare to 305 buffed Dexterity Ranger with unspecced Shield blocking melee at 10%.

On a Blademaster that has 42 Shield and 259 Dexterity the block rate was 66%. That's 2/3rds of the arrows blocked without bothering to use Engage. Compare to melee on a Blademaster dueling a Ranger. The Blademaster (in melee) blocked with 42 Shield and 259 Dexterity (BM) to 27%.

We didn't have any modifier at all for ranged attacks, multiple sources claim / show a higher block rate but the exact numbers are entirely missing / vary from source to source.

The update doubled the block chance against range attacks.

I tested with a Ranger with unspecced Shield and a BM with 42 Shield. The numbers are pretty consistent at 244%.

Why was this change put in at all? There was no request for it that I saw in the forum or Discord.

Did you reach any statistically relevant amount (not sure where that would start as the # for that is a totally different discussion ) of shots while testing? Just curious...

Not needed here. There is no damage variance and percentages are shown in the combat window. Thankfully I don't have to log thousands of hits and then parse.
