Necro pet target

Before I submit a bug report, can anyone let me know if they remember a necro pet transfering target to pet owner if owner doesn't currently have a target?
It's super annoying when traveling through trees in emain only to have my pet take damage and I cant see where it's running and I have no idea which direction the enemy is hitting from. Most of the time this happens my pet dies before I even get a target. All other characters get a target upon taking damage, being rooted, stunned, rebuffed, or mezzed if they aren't already targeting.

Out of curiosity: Have you tried /assist-ing your pet? Maybe that helps?

I'm not sure what the command would be, maybe /assist abomination?

I guess you have to target your pet and then /assist...

afaik there's no "name" to your pet

I guess you have to target your pet and then /assist...

Could try "/macro abom /assist %t" while having your abom selected. That should choose whatever the game adds as your abom for the %t.
Then make a new abom and check if the macro assists your abom. If not you'll have to manually klick your abom an then /assist it as proposed before.
