Weird Test Dummy results

So I was trying to do some spec testing to see how damage changed with different specs.
At first it seemed like the damage on the testing NPCs didn't vary at all but then I started to get weird inconsistencies as I respecced. I finally recorded a period where without training, my damage and my damage modifier would change back and forth (all while using the same style on the same mob). Any ideas?

I tested myself and it's seems the dd on the weapon when it procs changed the damage modifier.

Changes like this are related to attacker count, in pve every attacker adds a small amount of extra damage / increases the modifier slightly. Looks like Schamalow is right and there is bug that when your weapon proccs you count as 2 attackers.

Ok, very cool that it was figured out. Might mean that I need to test some stuff again though

ah nice job - was seeing this myself, good to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for the thread, because I was seeing this but didn't know the cause. For my purposes it was sufficient at the time to wait for the later / higher value as I was doing proportional comparisons, but as future confirmation testing will use the lower value after this bug is fixed, I'll need to rerun my tests as well.

Is this a complete log? I ask because I do not see a proc happening that would support that theory. (I think there is a resisted proc near the top, before the damage goes down.)

I would expect that merely "attacking" with the proc, whether or not it connects, is giving the multiple attacker bonus. This would make sense where a PvE group attacking a purple might not manage to connect at all without the bonus, and therefore would never get the bonus (and get quickly wiped).

No it's not complete. And you can see one from the last green attack 2/3rds way down, which does seem to support the theory as the following attacks start to do more.

I thought there was something I wasn't understanding. Thanks for the explanation.
