Launching earlier is a huge NONO
If they had deemed it a good idea they would definitely have done that.


but couldn't the server be left up running in last patch before currently planned shutdown?

with minimal or no staff supervision?


i have no idea about downsides to that, so please don't hate on me for suggesting that if it is ridiculous.

We need the time off to:

a) Spend time with our families
b) Clean up the DB
c) Stress test with our bots on our actual game server (We MIGHT open up for this but not 100%)
d) Prepare mentally for launch day/week

There will also most likely be many, many reboots during this time as we work on the server which would not be an enjoyable experience for anybody to play on.

Need to get things tidy for January 12th
