There are groups that will have one person log out, log a friar etc buff resist and switch back. If you added a stealth cap in i50 you should consider this too

This shouldn't be a thing

Why not just remove resist buffs from the game? They have always been a problem. That video is exactly the type of stuff 8manners do.

I'm all for range. I don't see the difference between the tactics the OP describes and buffbots.

I do think the range needs to be a bit wider than it is where already implemented, IE conc buffs. Today my group was defending a keep, standing in front of it (because of course no one came), and I couldn't walk all the way around the keep at the bottom of the hill without my conc buffs going out of range. The current range makes sense for 8-mans roaming as a unit, but it's a bit tight in any sort of a brawl.

There where ppl with assassin bots to poison their main toons weapons and you're wondering about groups having a resist bot?

This is a game (not just DAoC). For some it is and was all about min-maxing just about any aspect of the game.

You can’t understand. It’s Elite 8mans players. It’s another world

🤢

I would support this, since logging on a character solely to apply their timed class buffs is the functional equivalent of using a buff bot. It removes a major reason to accept that class into the group or actively play it.

Application of poisons for non-assassins was removed by the devs.

Yes, this should definitely be a thing and range should be added to resist buffs.

imo falls into the same category as buffbotting

ofcourse removing resistbuffs isn't the solution, but maybe they could make timed buffs dissappear when the buffer logs out

that would fix the problem instantly without impacting anyone else (if i am missing something feel free to correct me)

Having spells dispell when caster logs out would do it.

It seems that a range+timers would be the best solution. I'm not a big fan of range because I often run out of range of buffs when I'm scouting for my group, but I see the necessity of it because of the buffbot problem.

i believe they are pretty good at catching multiaccounters, problem with the friar buffs is that no actual rule is broken.
They log in a friar on their account, buff, and relogg to their main toon again.

Having buffs runout when their caster loggs off would be best

only downside i see is when someone has LD in combat and the whole group loses buffs because of it...but to be honest, if you lose a groupmember during combat the resistbuffs are the least of problems
