What's your advice for a cleric on i50 spec wise and ra wise?

I love to run in small men's and 8man
I've never played on alb, but I've often play druid with 35heal and 40 buff.
And on paper I was leaning on the same idea for my cleric.
But I'm lost for the RA which one do I have to take ?

(Ok I'm lost with everything, yesterday was my first day out. I'm a new player on Phoenix. But I played a bit on uthgard)

Welcome to Albion, friend!
Spec-wise, 40e/36r or 36e/40r are the most common that you will find. Pure smite is also somewhat viable, but it is one of those lines that just doesn't help to go in partially. I prefer more rejuv (43r/33e) in my build, but I'm a carebear.

For RAs, if you plan to be a good party cleric (which is about all you will be with the standard build), then you want Bunker of Faith, Purge and Tireless 1 (for perma-sprint using yellow end regen pots). After that, it's kinda up to you. I like serenity 1 (or even 2) and MCL (again 1 or 2) because as a healer you always need POW for heals and mid-battle rezzes. I also have MoArt 5 and Aug Dex 5 for the casting speed (since it sucks having someone die while I'm trying to cast a heal on them). I've tried Battery of Life, but found it to be not very useful since the 1k or so it heals isn't very much and the heavy-buffed tanks usually drink that up quickly. I haven't tried going the MOC route, but I've heard from some that they like it. Wild healing and Mastery of healing were interesting, but they just didn't work for me.

The nice thing is that, for the beta, respecs are free so go ahead and try out whatever spec you want, and change it up after a few runs to get a better feel for what you like and what works for your groups.

Ok definitvly i50 are a good thing for testing things,
but it's way harder to apprenhend your char without the lvling phase
Like Mostly on the qbar and which spell goes where And specilly if you are a retourning player like me whom havn't played in 5 years more or less

I understand. Being given a huge list of abilities and no real understanding of which are important and how they should be grouped is pretty daunting. I use a pretty simple system for setting up my bars:

bar 1: healing: little heals, medium heals, big heals, single target insta; group heal; group insta; spread; heal NS; cure disease; cure poison
bar 2: buffs: bases then specs; casted resists
bar 3: misc: pots, trinkets, useful emotes, RAs, rez; sprint

I use the second pages of each to handle overrages (like for casted resists).

HTH!

For smallman in i50 I'd recommend 43 rejuv, rest enhance. Your buddies will be fine with 1 blue spec buff if they dont feel like running 2 charges. Gives you the 3.5s nearsight cure, and last Greater heal.

Nice to pop off a massive heal when needed cause you'll be running your ass off on a cleric in a smallman. With the way charges are so accessible, theres really just no need to be 40 enhance at the moment.

My exact spec and I ♥ it for reasons that depth mentions!

Agreed. Even playing as a Hib I would like to see more people spec their classes out of the norm and have fun with it.

My clerics usually had 33 rej, 42 enh. Is that "out of the norm" enough to be Special?

I'm genuinely curious: why 42 enhance?

Purple acuty. Casters loved me for that.
Did the same on shaman and druid. Never heard a complain.

the purple brain buff still is less then the acuity charges on staff...

Which wasn't the case when I played my buff classes. Thanks to specing the line + having buff bonuses either from RAs or TOA boni back on live you could buff almost every stat to the cap. I also don't remember players using charges back then as they do now. For RvR the biggest factor for what gets buffed by the cleric and what gets buffed by a charge will propably be the clerics conc... Doubt that ppl on Phoenix will use charges for longer pve activieties like Caer Sidi.

I also saw more use in higher resist buffs and better str/con and dex/qui buffs than in a 100% insta or even bigger heals. Only the big rez was something I missed when going 42 enhance on my cleric.

But as my plan is to limit myself to one char only, I'm not going to play one of the buffing classes anyway

would love to see class specific RR5s put in..

the cleric re-active stun was so awesome as a smite cleric!

just need to add a little Mastery RA for buffs and it surpasses the brain charge. But in all honesty. yellow buffs with RR mastery on buffs are a few points short then Red buffs, the conc cost isn't worth it. the RA to lvl 4 is however using yellows.

Is it usual for a cleric to be the only healer in his/her party ?

Sadly, yes. I am seeing more friars out and about nowadays, so maybe that is changing.

A while back we had an 8man with heal friar + enhance cleric. Was a great duo but a few patches after what we have here so we had buff shear, better friar heals, ToA stuff and other RA possibilities...

I'd love to see this duo on phoenix but I'm not sure how viable it is with this patch.
