I need some clarification on how stealth works here. According to the char builder your actual spec in stealth (not composite) determines your level of MoS. However, in very limited tests I have not seen that to be the case. As I am now 6L+ on my ranger I would like to lower the stealth to under 35 (still keeping it 50 composite) and put those points elsewhere, but I want to make sure that I will not be losing the lvl of MoS that is shown on the char builder. I've been told by multiple people that lvl 50 spec stealth has the same movement speed and stealth detection that 35 does, but I want to make sure before lowering my stealth to 34.

The base detection range is 150
Assassins have +150 against assassins, +250 against archer, +350 against minstrels
Archer have +250 against assassins, archer, minstrels
Each level of MOS will give more speed
30 Stealth Spec: Mastery of Stealth 5 +22% movement speed
35 Stealth Spec: Mastery of Stealth 6 +25% movement speed
40 Stealth Spec: Mastery of Stealth 7 +28% movement speed
45 Stealth Spec: Mastery of Stealth 8 +31% movement speed
50 Stealth Spec: Mastery of Stealth 9 +34% movement speed

So for detection purposes there is no bonus from 35 to 34? Just movement 3% movement speed?

Yep. I run 32 stealth (MoS5) for ages and don't notice a real difference in speed. I even grouped with a gimp Hunter who was specced MoS6 and he wasn't faster in stealth at all (I even sticked him for testing purposes
). He didn't do any damage too so it was a kind of cosmic balance...

On my hunter I had stealth 40/45 and it helps getting around and eluding other stealthers
