Make sages uncharmable

It would have zero impact on group or zerg play but would go a long way to dialling down mincers in solo play.

Having a pet that can both heal and do ranged DPS is absurd.

And its dead in 5 seconds. And then the 5 times nerfed Minstrel got his laughable melee dmg. Lol.

If it's such a shitty pet why do people like you defend it so adamantly? If it were as bad as you all pretend, no one would be charming it, but every solo, duo, or small man minstrel that can get one to spawn uses one.

Let me translate:
I play minst and I cannot recognize that as of today, I can solo most classes as minstrel is op.
You "just" need to kill it.

Sure - after it deals 250x2 dmg from range, if minst is awake, istun goes + 2 instant DD + 2x250 from pet (if not more).
So basically, you purge right ?
What about a bit of melee with pet until he is 30% with some more minst DD.
Now, let me cast you a flute mez, while not facing the target and being rupted mid cast... and still land it. (yes, you know what I am referring to)
Back up full range, wait a bit for imune stun to be near the end and pet to heal himself. (basically resetting the fight just with enemy 50% hp gone and now without purge, cool cool, cool, sure, sure, sure... ;D)
Throw pet back in 2x250 dd + 2 DD from minst (obviously).
Then... mmm... what about a small SOS? sounds cool right? Just in case you fat fingered something.
Range again 2x 250 dmg to target + 2 DD minst.
+ stun that cannot be purged. (see above)
If target does not FA (if ever possible) /IP/Moose, counter SOS, rupt, ST, moc, which can all mostly be dealt with...

That's the kite version if you try to kill the pet, which is very tough to counter. And I feel this is especially the case with caster pet which you need to chase.
For all other melee pet, you can apply very fast slam / snare and get on your way to play catch me with the minst. (which is still nearly impossible against a well played minst)

Personally, I only killed minst 1 v1 when they made the mistake to be overconfident and come melee.
Else, I can just sit down because cc immunity will wear off, and the only thing I would have managed is to use many heal charge and potions and use my RA timers.

Nerf however, is tricky, because minst in small is strong but not as OP as in 1v1. To me, I would say Ellyl sage should be charmable, but with a either/or condition maybe. Whereby you would need to select either defensive support (heal and melee hit) or offensive dps (ranged firebolts).

I have fight 1v1 vs countless mene with my skald and I think sage is one of the easiest pet to fight.
For a tank it's even easier to slam and kill it.
Also if 1v1 vs mene is a fight you got a lot, determination it's a nice tool
That being said the infinit peel + kite + pet can be pretty annoying when perfectly played.
Sometime you have to run the other way to FA or gain some time on heal pots.

The problem with the minstrel is not the pet, it's having made all song available quite at the same time.

Have a perma pet and speed without any effort.
A Minstrel can mezz while moving with a pretty decent range.
Switch from speed to abla song.

And the class still have instant stun, very decent DD, and a pet that can be red and pretty much kill anyone on its own (Bargest, Frost Stallion).

The class was designed so it could be very versatile, but would not have access to everything at the same time. Having made it so on Phoenix completely broke the minstrel gameplay, allowing the class to completely overcome any 1v1, and boost smallmen with an unfair advantage.

What is required is to come back to a decent balance, with the minstrel having to comply with basic game mechanics, or more and more people will continue to leave the server frustrated of this situation.

Few tentative have been made to "balance it", without touching the very essence of the issue, and this is why we still stand at the same place.

yes please.

i'd like to see if a minst drops/loses a pet, a new pet can't be recharmed for 3-5 min. so that red/purp pet can still be charmed. but, that first resist and there is now a long timer before a new one can be charmed.

If spiritmaster & necro can't summon a new pet for 3-5 minutes after its death sure lets do it
