Phishing attempt prevention measurement

Before you lock the post, my concern is that this is something that needs to be constantly reminded in the times that you are in a vulnerable (i.e the threats) state.

This post is not to be about the person and his actions, but since he is switching usernames I would at least appreciate that you devs and GM's keep an updated list on the forums with all his known discord aliases or other aliases on the forums so that people can be constantly reminded about what pattern he picks to be aware of. Just the fact that he picks the names of members of the staff shows that he is trying to pick names that are considered trustworthy thus a list will make it easier for us to be aware and on our toes.

Again, not gonna discuss the announcement, it is what it is but protection against identity theft should be top priority and any measure you can take to help us be on guard will help.

Technically yes, but the IP holder has never claimed anything before, so I hardly think that will be an issue. Identity theft is a very serious crime on an international level.

The best thing about a list of known aliases, is that it is easier to keep track of a attempts of malicious behaviour towards en masse of people. The end result is that the persons hands will be tied and silenced because of public awareness in the community. It is a common practice in large reddit communities for example to publish lists of aliases in their blacklists. Not only because people then are aware of their previous presence and actions, but also because it doesn't take many names to begin to see a pattern form thus making the malicious attempts futile.

Also, I take great joy in trolling trolls, just the mere fact that he has revealed his deck of cards and that it is now public makes a list very effective to stop his attempts. That is not called a joke, it's efficiency

Ovh, the company used by the phisher, is located in France and what he claimed to do is illegal in France. So, yes, there is some actual facts that could lead to prosecution, and it is quite unlikely that the police investigates the activities going on the server and charge them without anybody complaining about it in the first place.

If there are french citizens among the phoenix staff, I suggest you consider this option.

Cybercrime in Europe is governed under EU commision for EU members and EEA members. The last time I checked France is a member of EU so again tough luck with that argument. This is not a rumor, I can even back it up with a reference.
