Change Melee snare

Melee snare has become a must have, for every successful rvr combination. This creates issues for other melee specs. For instance, because its chainable, with no immunity, hammer spec in a mid 8 is a must have, as is the anytime positionals in the various weapon lines for hib and alb. This takes away from the variety options with other spec lines. For your melee classes, you have to be specced for melee snares.

i recommend some type of immunity timer for melee snares, or even add anytime snare positionals to all melee weapon type specs.

yeah immunity timers on snares will definitely help more melee diversity seen in groups

The other suggestion is part of what they are looking into, for the style revamp though...so either it's already in the works, or shelved

While I agree melee is forced into snare abilities, adding immunity timers would effectively kill melee players' ability to find groups in RVR.

So what you're really saying is you think melee shouldn't exist.

Why do I say that? Because without a way to stay on target, there is no reason to run a melee when you could just add another perma-kiting caster that hits for 400 every 1.5 seconds if they get open, which they certainly will when melee cannot stay on a target.

I see this just the opposite. If you can't chain snare my savage/warrior/zerker/skald/etc., then you wont be able to perma kite, like you can now if your tanks are doing their job snaring. Add snare immunity, just like mez/root/other cc, and you have to use it strategically in a fight, and not just spam it. OR! If I don't have to have snare, because now it's not a necessity, maybe i can spec sword or axe, and utilize the variety of options available in those lines.

Snares with immunity would lead to fulltime snares running on melees (because they don't need to be attacked before the debufftrain is ready) while the melee cannot utilize the full duration on its enemy, because they are attacking it and breaking the snare on their next attack

Trying to spin snare-immunities as a melee buff doesn't work
