The dumbest thing in DAoC

Greun,

This is a carryover from live that I am surprised you guys have not fixed. There is an "upper" alch table and a "lower" one. The upper one has the Alch and the SC Masters standing beside it - you have to visit your Master each time you hit 99 to get the next tier unlocked. There is no NPC in the upper level that sells alch and SC mats. And there is no Master on the lower level. So each time you hit 99, you have to run up to the top, talk to the Master, then back down to the bottom to level again.

It can't be that hard to add material NPCs for SC and Alch up top where the Masters are, can it ?

Thanks....

You may want to mention what city you're discussing.

Seems to be Jordheim.

But the more interesting question is why the OP ain't crafting in Aegir?

why would you? i never understood why ppl go aegir for alch/sc....merchants are farther away from alch table there compared to jordheim.
for metal craftings it does not really matter both cities offer short distances with a little advantage for aegir since you dont have to open a door there ;D

Only reason for city is bits and pieces merchant
Use the craftqueue macro to buy, you don’t need to be next to merchant

ehm nope thats incorrect, actually you need to be in range of like 150 locs or so to the NPC
and then still you need 3 NPCs for alchemy and in jordheim they are all in the same hut, where in aegir the metal merchant is near the forge and the two others in the corridor to the vault keeper.

you can buy from further away, there is actually even a bug report for this which is basically saying this is intended by accident. I tried that yesterday with my spell crafter and works like a charm

hmm i tried it at some point and it always said you must be closer to the target

is that an "aegir" bug?
it seems to not work in jordheim
still there is the problem with targeting the npcs in both cities

You probably mix up sell instead buy? for sell you still need to get close. I did that in Aegir, but the spell crafter merchant isn't far from the table (but still far >150). I will try later this evening the Alch merchant since I have to refill potions anyway, but will take some hours.

In Aegir probably most useful for smith/sc stuff, since they are visible from the according tables. Just a misclick makes you run to the Alch merchant since he is behind a corner.

edit: the bug report states Camelot, so its not Aegir only

hm gonna try it!

in jord i was not able to buy stuff from the forge location, i had to go near the hut wall to buy.
no im not mixing things up since i dont use sell macros
