Volley nerf....imbalance of gtaoe and groundassist

Mission accomplished, you've effectively removed volley from the game which of course mainly hurts Hibernia's ability to take/defend keeps due to the popularity of the ranger class. OK, no worries.

In this spirit of nerfs and balance, isn't it time to start looking at necro ground assist? Albs already have the most/best GTAOE option. In addition they have the advantage of having a shade form class that can set ground targets for Earth Wizzies with impunity. MId/Hib can't do anything close to that.

It is time to remove the ability to /groundassist a necro. That is a good start.

Afaik the groundset command only takes one value and then places the groundtarget "that value" units in front of you...

You are correct., he doesn't know what he is talking about. /groundset is just a distance, not coordinates. In any case, Has nothing to do with invulnerable shade form standing in danger and setting precise groundassist.

You do know about being able to set GT anywhere in a keep using the ram ? Which is where all the GT assists come from. Nobody uses a necro for that.

False at all.
In towers and in keep take gt on lord cant be placed by ram driver ... but necro shade can when doors down ... he enters go where healers met around a tinder and place gt for earth wizzies ... and if ppl change loc he simply follow and place a new gt with chirurgical precision.

And in and case ALL realms can place gt by ram driver ... only alb with the untouchable necro shade ...

As already suggested make abomination shall always be in sight of necroshade and follow consequently ... or make abomination shall enter the same structure with necro ... no more shades in with abomination out keep/tower.

But Devs never nerf alb chars .... only Hib as multiple animist nerf, bard amnesia and volley demonstrate ...bah .... useless ask them nerf an alb class

Devs wait months to do a nerf that was clearly evident to all ppl in the server .... and the charm nerf is little .... and affect also mentalist charm (that was told to me by our mentalist) ... so also another nerf to hib.

Wanna talk about earth wizzy ? They can self debuff their dmg type casts LOL only caster of server that can do.

Necro abuse (pets in wall not visibile or that cant be attacked for example) or shade in structure spying and placing gt etc etc are SO MANY ... read the issue section ... and what have do Devs? Notihng... necro remains untouchable ....

Anyway that said, necros still IS really a BIG problem and you'll know well that .... and also earth wizzy customization.... why do not settle that problems pls ?
Some changes was not fair ... and you know that .... like nerf amnesia bard or the max number (too low) of shrooms in one area ... leaving many animist without the possibility to summon any shroom ...

So many nerf on Hib ... so few on alb ... why ?

Since investing the realm spec points into volley is not worth it anymore i suggest making volley a basic ability, all archers have access to.

@Archers, use archer assists, you will drop a ton of targets and make a very strong impact, the volley nerf was necessary for zergfight balance. The true potential of volley assists wiping entire zergs was never rly used even.

If this is the final form of volley it should be added into the archery line at some point.

You really should work on how you format your posts properly, because it is really hard to read your posts on the forum.
Make some small effort if you want to be heard and check your facts before you start make a point, otherwise it will make you look stupid if your posts turn out wrong. As Uthred already stated, the Mentalist was not affected by the Minstrel nerf. Additionally to that, i hope you are aware that the Enchanter can debuff their own nukes as well - if not i'm seriously worried about you playing on hib - oh and don't forget the Split-Runemaster. Ok Alb also has the Cabby if going split like the Runi - but still, your "LOL only caster of server that can do" is wrong.

Other than that, i agree that shades should be look into regarding their options to leave the pet on a safe spot while wandering around to toss info or plant GTs safely. On the other hand i can understand that this is part of their class design, given the fact that the pet is pretty weak and hard to maneuver. I also agree that some nerfs are a bit over the top, pretty much all the Animist nerfs for example or the BD nerf - at least compared to the small nerfs to Alb classes got.

Should have left Volley alone, and got to the real source of the problem in respect this and all the related complaints (Necros, GTAOE spells, Catapults etc) and removed Ground Assist from the game.

I agree with you. Dev is usually quite sensible about their "tweaks". I think a better option to try 1st would have been to just remove /groundassist totally.
My mains are a ranger and void eld so this would have had a direct effect on me but I still think it would be a better choice.

Even after the gtaoe los change I think if you polled everyone they would say catapult and GTAOE spam are more of an issue to them than volley.

As an alb that is with the zerg I can attest. No one ever uses the necro to get a ground target....

Once the doors are down if there is a decent size defense some people must. Or is it just coincidence that necros enter the lord room and stand where pbae is setup and gtaes start going off?

Ok, the 6x longer cd was a bit over the top.
I would suggest to the Devs to review the elimination of ground assist for all classes and change the cd for volley to 30 sec that it is worth to spend point on it.

If 1 changed on 1 class wrecked an entire realm. Then it was unbalanced.

Best thing to do is find a new way to defend/take keeps that didn't rely on 1 class.
