Rubble / Box quests (Phenoix supply quests) Suggestion

I've done some forum searching and I haven't really seen anything soley dedicated to this. So, I'd like to start the discussion focused on it.

For any of those who do not know, box/rubble quests were mini repeatble quests that you could do to collect a small amount of realm points, the rubble was scattered throughout maze towers areas and in EV towns, and the boxes were located at EV docks. Collecting 10 of each would complete the quest giving you a small amount RPs/gold/exp.

In my experience playing so far i've noticed a few glaring problems that implementing rubble / box quests wouldn't ''resolve'' but could help. Some of those problems being:

1. I'm logged in, i can't find a group to RvR, I guess i'll just log off.

2. Solo/small man areas are pretty congested (mainly docks)

3. (pheonix only) Keep is under seige and you're realm is going down in flames, "ahh no skin off my back".

I think a Pheonix version of these quests would be very successful in helping with these 3 problems (maybe more that i can't think of at the time of writing) . 3rd problem being a Pheonix only twist (shown below)

Adding the box/rubble quests or lets call them '' Pheonix Supply Quests '' would help these 3 problems in the following ways in my opinion.

1. Players that have ''nothing to do'' (RvR related at least) would be able to keep themselves occupied by doing these quests, thus keeping them logged in longer and maybe finding a group after a while.

2. These supplies could be put in areas that would drag players away from only fighting around Docks (solo/small-man) thus increasing the chances your fights won't get added on. There would still be ganks and 8man would occasionally roam here but at least there would be less congestion overall.

3. The quests can be implemented in such a way that could incentivise players to partake in keep capture and defense by changing where the turn in points are and the rewards given.

(below this point is purely my suggestions and is just something I thought of for #3 and should not be the sole topic of discussion)

Lets start with where the quest can be obtained and turned in and what rewards ( from an Albion perspective )

The quest can be obtained in the coastal keeps of your realm (meaning if your 4 coastal keeps are a different color you have bigger problems, so no quest for you untill the realm is cleaned up a bit.)

However, the quest can be turned in at any keep Lord (or NPC) where you turn it in gives you bigger rewards. Lets break down turn-in and rewards into 4 tiers (see photo)

  • T1 - Anywhere in your realm, receive a small amount of Rps/gold
  • T2 - 3 keeps farthest from the enemy realms inner keeps i.e. Bled, Nott, Blendrake. Receive a small amount of Rps/gold/Bps
  • T3 - 2 keeps closer to the inner keeps of the enemy realm i.e. Glenlock, Hlidskialf. Receive a small amount of Rps/gold/Bps/Feathers
  • T4 - 2 most inner keeps of the enemy realm i.e. Fens, Arvakr. Receive a small amount of Rps/gold/Bps/Feathers/Phoenix claws

Additionally, there could be a supply counter that helps keeps level up faster and/or when a keep is max level doing additional supply quests on that keep gives additional re-enforcement to said keep. For example a level 10 keep with 500/500 supply quests turned into it gets roaming guards (maybe only for certain keeps).

I think this is a really great suggestion. Some kind of a repeatable RvR zone quest with a reasonable reward would give people a reason to continue to try to work on their characters even when they can't find a group or only play with friends when they do group. And it's only going to help increase action by giving other smallmans a place to go hunting!

I support this idea 100%, and I love the idea to make the turn-ins better if you hand them in to owned enemy keeps!

There were a few people who suggested this when they were looking for new task ideas, myself included, but none of the posts were as detailed and thought out as yours so kudos. I may start playing again if the implement some sort of tasks like this for solo play.

It can definately be expanded upon, i can think of many ways to make this more than just a quest.

Wouldn't do bad for currencies like BP/Feathers and experience, but hard pass on giving RP rewards to PVE content.

Since the quest is in the rvr zones, it is just as much PvE as capping a flag, collecting points by standing in a maze or killing a guard at a tower

Make the reward something like the ones from the gamble npc, or discounts for skins/effects

In light of the new RvR changes, I still think the extra fortification from these quests would make defense more fun. Not to mention more areas to solo/smallman.
