I'd say mins cleric or cabalist. Cleric can buff pet and minstrel.
Caba can debuff body for mins shouts and has extra pet with disease and root.

Could it work? Sure. This person asked for best alb duo, though. So many better classes to take over necro imo. It was already stated but I'm pretty sure sorc and minst might be one of the best or at least competing for best duos available in this game.

Well first of all you really need to want to run as a duo, that's for sure. Can be quiet frustrating getting chases for 5 zones by bigger small men and 8men.
Secondly I would not suggest caters for duo, maybe except by BD, since most small men enemies are assassin's and that might be a very quick meeting if they double pa caster insta dead
