September 27 patch notes questions

- fix flute mezz resist rate - higher or lower than before?
- archer damage table has been corrected (were all 1 or 2 above what they should be) archer damage was too high!?
- adjusted stealth opener damage based on live values higher or lower than before?
- fixed an issue preventing stealth opener from taking sickness or 2h bonus into account were SB's nerfed all this time?

A * 10 was missing for the value used to actually check, instead the display / chat value used by the text was used: so instead of 13.5% you had 1.35% (internally for most % checks 1000 = 100%, here it used 13.5 instead of 135).

It was too high, archer should all have damage table 22, they had 23, 24 and 25 prior to this.

A lot lower, cap was 1600+ with 1h, on live it was / is just above 1000, cap is now in line with live and normal damage should follow, some tests to different armor types were also done on live and it seems in line.

With 2h yes but with 1h / la they were buffed as pa also wasn't affected by the la penalty, basically none of the % modifier applied to stealth opener.

to be clear - is pa (or any CS line) affected by LA penalty? I believe this wasn't the case in 1.65 classic.

With 2h yes but with 1h / la they were buffed as pa also wasn't affected by the la penalty, basically none of the % modifier applied to stealth opener.

Does this only apply to melee attacks or does it affect ranged/bow attacks as well?

thats a really good question! bow damage seems low, melee seems out of whack - stealthing blademasters

That's actually correct. LA is supposed to only affect the base damage (as it does) and until now we did that in the same multiplier where also things like sickness goes into (which was only not used by stealth opener).
Looks like that has to be separated out before style damage is calculated. This should mean a general sb and zerk style damage increase (or decrease with high enough rr + duelist refexes).

Bow damage was low during 1.65 from what I recall.

ya - to the point that people didn't play archers or turned them into melee characters. Not pushing for raising or lowering or being 1.65, but to be worth playing as an archer. hoping for feedback.

Yeah I hope they buff ranged archers a bit, because as is (especially without full buffs from a buffbot or other means) archers are going to be a very rare breed on this server. That also has a huge trickle down impact to the other stealthers (less targets for assassins) and if there are less assassins it also reduces the incentive for small man groups to roam to take them out...basically it will lead to more 8v8 or zerg instead of diverse playstyles on the server.

bow damage seems really high. Aua slams you! Aua hits you for 840! Chain wearer, max melee resists.

Looks like scouts got the least of the archer nerfs since I'm sure they were the 23 of the 23,24,25 values. Bringing them all down to 22 will mean it'll be a rare sight seeing an archer actually using a bow. Kinda f'ed up considering that's what an "archer" actually is.
If you cant a afford full buff pots, good luck killing anyone in RvR with a bow. Maybe green or blue ungeared lowbies.

That's was my guess also. Would like to see how the fix corrects Scout damage now. Getting hit for 840 after slam and purge down is end of game. Dark Age of 9 Sec stuns!

Welcome to DAOC classic rvr. If you're solo and purge is down 98% of the time youre dead when getting hit with long duration stun. All realms have it so it's not like any realm is favored.
