RVR Tasks - Fight in Portal Zones Task Suggestion

Hi,

First of all thanks to the devs for all the work they put in.

Now I would hope if a dev/gm can answer to the following suggestion , RvR tasks are great and have kept RVR funneled and active but currently we have 2 tasks :

Attack/Defend a Keep and Fight in Emain/HW/Odin.

What ends up happening most of the time is say we are attacking/defending Nottmoor in Mid as soon task is over most will just suicide and go to emain thus avoiding a big chunk of pvp (unless on the way to suicide to a pk you encounter enemies) instead of fighting each other.

What I'm suggesting is to change the current Fight in Emain/HW/Odin to stay in the realm where the keep task was , that will keep people in the realm/zones they are currently in, after that task gets completed then it's the next realm turn , rinse and repeat. This also will make all realms have to run to the PK zone not just hibs running to emain but most important keeps pvp centered.

Bonus Suggestion - Heck maybe even make things interesting remove Beno, Bledmeer and Crauch from the Attack/Defend Tasks and make it that when "Fight in xxx" task is active if a realm takes the keep it awards task level rp/feathers(adjust as needed). This bonus rp/feathers will be active only while the Fight in XXX task is active.

It will look something like this :

Attack Hib Keep -- Fight in Emain
Attack Mid Keep -- Fight in Odin
Attack Alb Keep -- Fight in HW

Or (with my idea of taking a keep while in fight in xxx task)

Attack Hib keep -- Fight in Emain (take Crauch )
Attack Mid keep -- Fight in Odin (take Bledmeer)
Attack Alb Keep -- Fight in HW (take Beno)

The second option is just an idea and not needed unless devs think is a cool idea but hoping at least we can discuss the main point of this post .

Thanks in advance for your attention.

Fight in a single portal zone is what it was before and that will not come back as a task due to the potential of blocking an mg

I understand that, but the task "Fight in Emain Macha or Odin's Gate or Hadrian's Wall" effectively is the same as "Fight in Emain Macha" only. I don't believe people can be mass reeducated to not fall back to Emain immediately in case there is a choice.

Here is a snapshot from some minutes ago. I typed in /who Emain, then /who Odin, then /who Hadrian.

Again, if there is Emain in the pool, it is almost equivalent to saying "Emain only".

What you might want to consider is making 3 distinct Score / RP pools, one for each zone. Each one would have to be filled in order to complete the task. Also, if the Emain task score pool is full, you would not increase your efforts bonus further if you continue fighting in Emain. Hence, people will have a reason to also go to Hadrian's and Odin's.

Well thanks Grue for responding but as khnattr said that's what is effectively is happening after almost every keep task ends (unless groups/people find each other on the way to suicide) people are amassing in emain and yes they block the mg there too.

People will go to whatever zone rvr is active perhaps as Khnattr said 3 different zone rp pool is needed and or if the concern is amassing in one zone then the task can maybe be to fight in the keep zone and pk zone, which what it was before but it was still open to all relams so that spread the pvp too thin , if you keep it 2 zones (same realm) less chances of zergs blocking mg .

Revised suggestion:

- Take Hib keep (Breifine) - - fight in Breifine and Emain
- Mid keep (Jamtland) -- Fight in Jam and Odin
- Alb keep (P. Mts.) -- Fight in Mts and HW

Currently is the same 17 year old habit.... fight in emain and 70% of it is at amg and Albs usually zerg the mg.
