CD - Swing Speed Calculator

Hello,

does anyone have a link to a reasonable CD Swing Calculator, or at least the numbers that are needed to get into 1.5sec swing speed cap - Considering BMF with 4.3sec speed as mainhand weapon ?

And i'm not quite sure at the moment, you gotta put the faster weapon into the left hand, aka shield slot, aka offhand right ?

This isn't a link, but a program I've used for years and it seems pretty accurate as long as the information you put in is accurate;

http://daoctb.sourceforge.net/Charplan__EN.htm

You can also try this link;
http://talsyra.tripod.com/daocmechanics/weaponspeed.html

I've posted some links here when it comes to the technical information of the sort you might need (mostly geared towards Rangers though)
https://playphoenix.online/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1490

Regarding your offhand vs your Mainhand and then the total swing speed, that depends on whether or not you're swinging unstyled or styled.

If you are swinging unstyled then it goes like this:
If you only swing one hand (dependent on CD spec and rng) then you swing at the speed of the weapon which actually swings, which can be either main or offhand.
If the RNG gods favour you and both weapons swing then the speed is averaged between the two weapons. If you plan on swinging unstyled a lot then a slow MH and fast OH is the way to go. Doubtful.

If you are doing a styled swing then you will ALWAYS swing at the MH speed, regardless of style line (CD or Pierce/Blades) or what speed is in your offhand. This is when a slow offhand is of use (for higher offhand hits) and a faster Mainhand is good for getting close to cap speed. (I've done testing on live to confirm this).

Keep in mind that this only applies to DW/CD. Because Left Axe works differently than CD/DW a fast offhand is always better for Left Axe regardless of styled or unstyled hits.

That being said, why bother trying to get to cap speed? On Phoenix the Devs made a change to reactionary styles that for the most remove any reason to swing faster than the other guy. See this thread for details;
https://playphoenix.online/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1723&p=11287#p11287

As you can see the posters in the thread are pretty disappointed with the patch as well as the Dev response. Hopefully if they revert it to how it works on live/etc. there will be a reason to use fast weapons again.

I'm honestly curious as to your current thoughts on why you would like to get to cap speed in this current patch state.

Holy ****,

was looking for copper and found some gold.
Thank you very much for the detailed information about this.

I'll take a further look at this once I'm back at home.

But with the change for reactionary styles you are telling me to go for slowest weapons possible to hit as hard as possible with each hit ?
Or get a medium speed Mainhand and slowest offhand possible ?

With the new (unpopular and un-asked for) change to reactionary styles that allow for a 3 second window to pull off a reactionary style there is no reason to wield a fast MH weapon now. Any keyboard face masher can pull off a reactionary style against a more skilled player that is wielding even a fast weapon. At this point it's just best to join the keyboard face mashers and go with the slowest MH you can get for a bigger styled hit yet have a 3 second window of unskilled confidence that a reactionary style can still be pulled off. There is no longer any compromise between damage per hit and reactionary style effects.
