Allow /target NPCs or at least Pets

One feature that I think is extremely helpful is the ability to /target NPCs and pets. For NPCs, this can help you locate them in large groups of other NPCs by doing /target and /face. If that is too much to ask, being able to /target pets would be extremely helpful alone, especially when you are a healer trying to heal a pet while focus pulling etc. Sometimes the time it takes to try to click the pet through various other mobs can be the difference between a wipe and a successful pull.

How? Pet names are not unique.

I agree with OP about NPCs very strongly. This is something I sorely miss on Phoenix.

Re targeting pets, I sure wish it was easier, esp. for focus pulling. Not sure how to do that easily tho....

Well, have the caster target the pet and then assist the caster. Not optimal but the only way atm

Have the command find the nearest thing of that name. Just like how you can type /tar th to target Throck. Th is not a unique name, but as long as there are not multiple people with names startling with th nearby, it finds it. Also, if you are in a grp with 2 chanters for example, have only the puller summon a compatriot.

I don't really get the need of /target for pets, especially if the use case is focus pulling.

I leveled my chanter here pretty much entirely while focus pulling and a healers in a focus group literally have nothing else to target but the pet. They never have to switch targets.

You could implement a command /targetpet Khnattr

It would trigger a script which checks if I got a pet. If I have one, make this my target. For BDs obviously target the mainpet, for animists the main shroom.

Is it possible to set the target of a player from the server side? I don't know.

For one, it is not always a healer healing the pet. On My Mana Ment I have to keep the pet hotted and I am also supposed to dot all the mobs, so I have to change targets. Also, there are times where people take aggro from the pet and I have to heal them or stun the mob as well. It is not easy to click back on a pet in a crowd of mobs when you only have a few seconds before it dies. As the focus puller, you obviously do not need it, but there are many other reasons to have it.
