Will the Server Be Wiped After Beta?

Several people were chatting about a server wipe after beta in the advice channel yesterday. It appears this server is in the beta 2 phase. I just wanted to get a confirmation on this. Will the server be wipe after beta? I hope it won't because I'd hate to lose any progression I've made.

Any Beta you play it should be 100% assumed there will be a wipe. Beta is a time for testing to fine tune things for launch. It would be totally unfair to the average player not to wipe the server before it launches.

I just wanted to get the facts, that's why I asked. I consider chatter in game to be rumors until I hear it straight from the horses mouth. Of course I want the bugs to be worked out so it's fair to other players. One can always hope it won't be wiped though.

Would be kind of unfair to not wipe it as they have been tweaking and testing exp gain rates, RP gain rates, feather gain rates, etc. etc.

After all tweaks are in the state they want its an open playing field... Enjoy beta for what it is, just fun.

I had fun last night. It was like old times again. I was on a Half Ogre Armsman and got with a small band of xpers in DF. I've also beta tested many games to help ensure that they deliver the best gaming experience possible, and report any bugs to the devs before full release. Sure, beta is fun. but it's not like I am going to be logged on every day playing the game especially with a server wipe on the horizon. I've got other commitments. I'm sure you get that.

Playing Beta is not only about reporting bugs.
If you report one bug, you did better than not playing at all.
If you caused others to see a bug (maybe not even intentional), you did better than not playing at all.

I've never completed Baldurs Gate 2, that doesn't stop me from picking it up every 5 years and play, and also doesn't stop me from deleting the game when I get bored, despite the fact that I could have saved the progress for next time I wanted to play, and thus get closer to finishing the game.

The thing is, I play BG not to complete it, but because of familiarity and the fun I have with nostalgia/game. Most games I never finish, because it's playing I enjoy, not some goal of RRxx or 500 Dragon kills, etc etc. So for me knowing this server will wipe is not a problem at all, and in no way affects my approach to how/what I do in game.

Of course you get bored with it if all you do is play Irenicus' castle every time O_o I've played that game so much that I install a mod that let's you skip it completely XD
