Drop changes

Hi, would it be alot of work to change drops, so we can get 1 of the old drops ( these that salvage for the normal amounts ) every 2 minutes, just like the xp loot? i mean, at the moment u must have an AOE dot class to make money, this wouldnt buff AOE farming much, but would be an really big improvment for all others.

It's difficult, every change will lead to people attempting to exploit.

A big thing recently is AoE farmers grouping classes with high value loot (on alb is reaver/scout/armsman) and making battlegroups and using the treasurer to gather all the loot, so you get the high kill per hour bonus of AoE caster, and the high value loot of these other classes.

By boosting value of feather or high utility ROGs you will boost the money gain from group activity, which will tune down farmers, they will farm 4 hours to get as much value as 1 hour of group content. But then comes the issue of organized groups of farmers/nolifers, which will increase inflation by farming the high value reward of group content. So you have to implement ceilings for these activities, or per account. Or limiter similar to the 1 task item per 2minutes, you could say max 20k feather per hour per account.

I personally really miss the flavor of old loot on phoenix, farming a full set of armor from the mobs instead of the ROG OP gear...
Getting some unique weapons to salvage and go craft while leveling.
But it doesnt go well together with the high exp rate that is currently on Phoenix.

Some people have suggested to create a separate Phoenix server with a more classic experience, but the reply was go to Uthgard.

What could be done is to have alternate rulesets within the Phoenix server, in order not to divide the playerbase.
There is the roleplay function that already sets some players apart, but it is only fancy with no gameplay modifications.

In the Diablo or PoE franchises you can select hardcore/seasonal character at creation to have different gameplay experience, rewards and rulesets.

On Phoenix you could have:
Full-Classic toggle command that would make you be able to group only with other Full-Classic toggle ON characters, you would get full classic lootables, you would no longer drop ROGs from these mobs, etc...
The problem is losing some of the good gameplay additions of phoenix, would you want to give up feathers/high utility ROGs/phoenix eggs/tasks/etc... and where to draw the line.

What I do sometimes, and I see many players do as well is create a brand new character and play it solo, without using eggs, without using pots, without using fire, etc... trying to play it like hardcore classic. Its fun for a few hours, but it gets annoying fast because its only a solo experience, and all this hardship doesn't come with increased rewards (title/cosmetics etc...)

i always loved the solo PvE grind in DAoC, even on my Warrior, but here its just time wasting, either u make an AoE class or you just go DS, and i hate instances, im not here for some WoW feeling or catacombs feeling... they could also make a 1-2seconds cooldown on drops at all, but the hate from AoE guys would be to too strong and i dont want to nerf AoE farming, i just would love to see grinding for other classes to be easier ( on live there was AoE farming but u also had spots like Axehands that had good drops to salvage and they con yellow/oj to 50 ) so even a solo zerker could farm okay.

A good idea really, and follows the same logic as the xp item changes.

Preach. Frankly I had my doubts in the beta with the whole feather system. From there it's got worse and worse until I actually would prefer a ToA server.
And ToA made me quit.
