From my understanding mercenary, blademaster and berserker are the same role. A duel weilding melee dps. Heard the term light tank but berserker cant train in shields so not sure if they qualify for that title. My question is then why do mercenary and blademaster get flurry and charge while berserker does not? All three have a class ability and while not experienced with dirty tricks triple weild and berserk seem on par.

Regardless of spec and damage from spec, a Mid dual wielding class will always have an advantage of proc effect application over Alb/Hib due to 100% offhand swing chance. That's pretty significant, so perhaps that's one reason why. Also, Zerk mode is pretty powerful compared to what Mercs and BMs get. Perhaps that's another reason.

you might be right with flurry although flurry is not very powerfull. charge however is an absolute useless ability here, it is basicle a free of endu use sprint ability for some seconds. that might come in handy sometimes since hibs and albs do not have a fix red endu buff therefore only have blue endu most of the time, in that regard maybe not so useless. anyway the class specific abilitys like berserk rage, dirty tricks and tripple wield are in fact very different but powerfull. where the mercs ability is more a defensive one, the other two are offensive. dmg wise the beserker rage seems to be the most powerfull but you also have to consider that berserks do not have any other utility than dmg.
comparing the dual wield abilities, merc and bm are in a very good position here with in creased off hand chance they end up at 77,5% and 100% dmg mh+oh for a fresh lvl 50. berserkers however have 100% oh swing chance but only have 97,% mh dmg and 83.7% oh dmg. in the end the dmg is pretty much compareable.

100% offhand swings also triggers more reactive proccs though...isn't the procc-thing more or less balancing itself out because of that?

Good point. I'd rather have 100% and less damage than less offhand swing and more damage though, for more reliable procs. The only reason I didn't start on Mid here though was because it became overpopulated very quickly on launch
