Nerf of stealthers

I get the nerf of the stealth zergs but is it fair that the whole realm makes them more visiblie?

From what I understand, the whole purpose of the nerf is to stop STEALTH zergs, so why not just make the change but with other stealthers only?

For example, an infi wont be affected by a cleric nearby, but if a scout stands nearby, the nerf applies.

This version makes a lot more sense to me, idk about you.

Agreed.

It should be easy enough to code so that it only affects those in stealth (the piece of code that lets sins use their from-stealth attacks)

This nerf inadvertently affected the three sins that participate in keep sieges. gonna be easily visible the second they climb a wall

It needs to be based on enemies, otherwise how could groups clean up an area together before having a clean fight?

Also I don’t understand why solo/visi (don’t have stealther) seems not protect worthy?
Please establish something protecting visi solos.

Also recommended auto-stealth for groups if Zerg around.

Remove it altogether. Stop telling people how to play. For me personally that crosses a line.
This only benefits me, but it opens the door to all crazy changes.

You see the sad thing is that your playstyle requires content, that being unfortunate people to come to you for you to carry out "your playstyle" and without these people whose playstyle you find so abhorrent those pesky scamps it is Infact you who will need to adapt get moving and become more creative.

like domination said, your RPs come from solos or people with less numbers, so yeah you should thank us solo for having this play style otherwise you would make close to no rps.

Again, I don't have a stealther and I solo a good amount as a visible, so I know how that feels being run over.
I would only benefit from the change in game.

That's why I take position in this matter. Since those high-content comments are obviously lost on someone not having a stealther.
I have a neutral position regarding the change itselfs.
It's not the change - it's the KIND of change - beginning of influencing people and telling them how to play. That's bad.
Here I can argue against those kind of changes from a neutral position.
Beware the beginnings!

If this change is ok, what does a solo visi get? What support do groups get against zerg? ... rabbit hole

At least hope the stealther gets a warning, like your necro pet is to far away, if not in range soon, you lose it.

You cant move around unaware and being easy to spot. Visual small mans will be able to dictate where the stealthers will be able to fight.
A stealther will be forced to move away if visuals stick around. And they will no longer be of use in siedge.

Also agree with poster above, that this just prove that any crazy change can happen. You take stealth away from stealthers. Focus staffs from mages next? Or shield from tanks. Think they not only crosses some lines here but stepped far far far over one

No one is telling you how to play. There is just some new parameters.
Crying about not being able to have large stealth parties that rip apart solo/duo without risk does not fall under the “tell how to play” headline.

No one is telling you how to play. There is just some new parameters.
Crying about not being able to have large stealth parties that rip apart solo/duo without risk does not fall under the “tell how to play” headline.

I personally think it is a bit over the top that anytime I goto any dock, most gates, a lot of bridges, or PoC, most of the time there are 4+ solo stealthers hanging around.

I have a feeling dev's felt similar.

I feel for people who like to group up as stealthers, but on the flip side I also feel the pain of every casual player who isn't temped getting destroyed in 2-3 hits from a group. It gets frustrating for people on one side at the same time the other side is just doing what the game encourages you to do which is temp yourself and kill every red player.

Would love to see a compromise but we all know how understanding most players are in this game, at least if your being honest you can see it.

I thought you were saying the buff was inappropriate and that you and your stealth group buddies couldn’t play how they wanted.

I think they need to make it so only stealthed characters trigger the increased detection distance.

I don't know why they are doing this, but is not the right approach IMHO.

And this hits sins harder than archers, because once an archer gets to a good spot, he can stay there and just pop arrows when profitable, he doesn't need to move from the spot literally.

But as a sin you need to roam, move toward your target, what happens if there are already others in the vicinity doing the same and you all become visible just when that small / fg / zerg runs by? You can die w/o being grouped or being your fault - aka get punished for trying to play your toon.

I just hilariously picture when 3+ stealthers from one realm, all solo, get in same boat to X destination, and when they get to destination all stealthed in water visible from miles around with enemies on shore picking them up like coins in the sand.

I wish more often than not stealthers wouldn't tab target and attack, but be more appreciative toward the enemy stealths, and more aware of their surroundings.

But honor and respect is in very small doses on this server, not unseen, but not common either.

Was on my 37 ranger earlier today and found a RR6 inf near DC tower (Dock side) and I went to do circles around him cause was nothing else I could do (me stealthed as well) and he panick perfs me just when a hib group comes by sending him back home packing. Obv I was probably yellow con to him, but if I do 3 circles around you and not take any offensive action, do you feel the need, the urge, to attack? I could have pop him like a butterfly and then speed it to tower (was like 100 yards away on slope from it) but I never had the intention to do so.

Anyway no matter what they do, they won't kill the stealth zerg, same as they won't kill RP farming or adders to fights etc. Those will only stop when the server stops pretty much. Always been a thing since OF live daoc, and always it was between players themselves to respect eachother and not add / pop in front of enemy fg / gang bang soloers etc.
