Make smaller groups slightly faster

Increase base movement speed by 14%.

With each groupmember, reduce that by 2% movement speed.

solo - 14% faster
2 - 12% faster
3 - 10% faster
4 - 8% faster
5 - 6% faster
6 - 4% faster
7 - 2% faster
8 - original speed like in the current patch

Assuming speed 6, this gives groups with smaller sizes the choice whether they want to engage or not. That way small groups can always flee and prevent being farmed by simply being outnumbered.

In contrast to all those other suggestions which aim at helping smallmen and solos, this might be an elegant way of protecting smaller groups from larger groups without disrupting overall gameplay.

This can even be justified roleplay-wise to some extent: larger groups are more difficult to coordinate, so they move a bit slower.

with speed 6 you can already escape nearly everytime, except you get catched over a hill or something like that. without speed 6 you will get catched everytime by any grp with speed 6 (so practicly every full group). afaik speed 6 is more then 14% faster then speed 5, so no difference

You can have your speed class for max speed plus keep endo buff pots and Tireless + LW for permasprint...you can still choose to avoid every fight because no one will be faster then just, they will be the same speed.

Why should a smaller group get faster speed just because smaller?

Smaller group can still just run away and if a zerg or larger group is chasing they will never catch unless as mentioned above, by surprise or over a hill or something.

I like the concept, but I can see complications.

As a solo caster for instance every split second counts when I encounter a tank. Having a skald incing at speed 6 is already hard to deal with. Speed 6.5 will be worse.


I do like the idea of smaller groups gaining some sort of marginal advantage though, it could provoke certain set groups to opt for a person or 2 less.

How exactly will 14% more runspeed help your solo wizzard of doom against the mighty 8v1 gankgroup with speed6?

Add delay then. So the largest group size you where in during the past 1-2 minutes counts.
