SC Focus only on staves change

I'd like to appeal to you, or at least start a dialogue about the focus crafting only on staves change.

I was hoping you'd provide some rationale or issues I may have overlooked with the change. I am a dwarf runemaster, and I have been utilizing a weaponless template. I've also made my armor look like a skald. This PvP event has proven to me what I only estimated previously: no staff has improved my survivability.

It buys me a couple seconds and stops enemies from immediately focusing me and burning me down in small-man. I've also heard that some enchanters utilize it to look like their pets to confuse - which I think is ingenious, and is a great tactic to improve their surivability. Overall I don't see an overtly game-breaking or extremely unfair advantage.

I'm hoping you'll reconsider the proposed changes to focus. Thank you.

There you go mate...
Mages are supposed to look like a mage for a reason. It's already super annoying to have no way to know if someone is a theu or a friar...

How can you say you don't see it being unfair and at the same time saying it is ingenious and a great tactic and also giving survivability and stops enemies from focusing. Casters looking like anything except casters shouldn't exist.

You can still look the same you just either have to equip a staff now if you start to cast or take in account that you lose more power. This change doesn't really do that much.

While I respect the argument that by appearing as something other than your character archetype, you gain an advantage. I'm arguing that it's not an excessive advantage, and frankly is unfairly applied to casters.

Infiltrators can make their armor look like a robe to look like a friar (weak example, but bear with me). But there is no penalty to the inherent abilities of the infiltrator, yet can still utilize the same "trick" as I do as a caster. As a caster, I suffer massive power penalties by not having focus (and thus must now equip a weapon) - to get around this I put the focus on my armor. Other classes do not need to worry about anything like this.

My point is that many classes can utilize this form of camouflage, yet with this change casters will be penalized where others are not.

While it seems like a minor and insignificant change to you, I find it rather important to my survivability, hence why I started the dialogue to begin with.

Thank you

Could it be you are not simply looking like another class, but you are looking like a NON-CLASS

I also made a post for VW which are technically caster, but I can't even craft focus on my scythe. Forgot to mention I am not changing my looks to match anyone or any class. I just want my power consumption lower when I play caster vw.

Switch to the staff if you want nuke a target? where is the problem?

This, I have a staff and with the /swith macro, it's easy to do...
