GTAOE possible changes - from someone who gives and recevies

Hiya so I play a wizard and I love the fact that your are possibly changing the gtaoe mechanics. I'm a believer in if you have small numbers or large being in a tower or keep/inner keep should be at an advantage. With the current state of gtaoe this is not the case. Your a sitting duck all it takes is 6 casters with gtaoe and your permantley taking damage in a location of 350 radius. Now the changes that have been spoke about are interesting but I honestly feel your missing some maybe better suggestions. Taking line of site into consideration you may as well remove the ability because it will then be a stealth popping tool only. My idea and I think would be the best option is remove the ability to raise and lower your ground target. It should be casted as normal but in line with your character. So if your outside a tower and you gtaoe you can only get the ground floor. If your in a keep on the oil level you could reach the ground floor stairs so on. This would introduce a more comfortable approach to the current mess of the spell I beleive. Cool downs wont work I think it's not a cooldown issue. Line of sight will remove the ability from use. Staying as it is well I suppose we are use to it but it needs a change. I honestly hope you read and could maybe look at introducing the vote where you remove the ability to raise or lower the gtaoe rather than removing the ability all together. Thank you

The proposed change is to require the target to have los to the ground target. This here is the vote option in discord:

Targets require LoS to the ground target to be hit (can still cast it without los)

I really don't know how it could be written to make it more clear that not the caster but the target will require los.

I suggest saying “the spell won’t hit enemies unless there is LoS from the gt”

Yea I agree wording is horrible and I assume the change will make no difference then and act the same

I am mixed on this, as a melee it does little damage, as a caster it just shuts down casting. I don't feel its as bad as made out to be, but it is annoying, and there seems to be little workaround for spamming GTAOEs from multiple casters. Only applies in siege fights.

The biggest problem is not the GTAE, it's the way that's exploited. Each GTAE caster should be able to set his own target.

Imho devs could remove GT assist command so the impact won't be that strong any more in keep fights, instead of modifying it deeply.

This might honestly make it worse. As it is, if there's a bunch assisting, you have a lot of GTs in one area. If they all pick a spot semi-randomly, you probably have greater coverage. Maybe some spots won't be entirely impossible to cast from if only 1 person is hitting it, but given the numbers of gtae casters now I imagine most would get hit regularly.

Dunno but to be honest, a lot of GTAE casters are simply unable to target by themselves. They just clic on ground assist & cast. Easy rupt, easy tag for RP. I played earth wizz so have some experience about that

Earth wizards are numerous and, because they're fully specced in the line with GTAoE, their GTAoEs hit for about 300. That's not exactly little damage.

Hello,

I read the magic number 300 damage in 2 or more threads on the forum and during my lunch break I paid attention to my GTAOE damage in one of the crim towers,rr5 earth wizard. I did not see once that I hit close to 300.
To be honest, i saw damage between low as 3 to high as 205 damage.

..per the charplan.

Not sure what is up with the .7 for eld and rm. GTAOE is like a pbaoe, if the ground target is right on top of you, max damage will be taken. This is more of a possibility with wizards as they can groundassist off of necros in shade form that can place exceedingly precise GTs without repercussion.
