Animist Shrooms in keep takes and defences

How can animists cast a shroom on the bottom layer of a keep that if it sees you and hits you once, it continues to hit you even after you go up by 2 floors. Also, it is unfair how animists can cast a pet onto the inner oil layer of a keep and completely disrupt you from doing anything inside. I have been hit many times by shrooms when there were 2 walls in between me and the shroom itself.

Please take a look at this as it is completely broken how this can happen. I get that all pets can run through a gate and hit you but at least those pets are killable.

Please take this into consideration, thanks for reading this.

I agree that once the shroom establishes a target and starts casting a LoS check should be made when the spell fires. That would get rid of a lot of the shroom hate as once it spots you in it's current setup it will complete it's cast regardless of whether or not the target is still visible.

That being said, there are a number of abilities that also behave in this fashion. If shrooms are somehow fixed to address this than the double LoS check should be applied to ALL abilities that currently take advantage of this mechanic.

All pets behave like this, once it starts casting, the spell WILL land (op necro) Doesnt matter if you hide behind a wall or what. I play Animist myself and the pet only needs to see you for 0.1 seconds, once casting, the spell will hit you no matter what you do.

If you did a 2nd LOS check the pets would be totally useless as you can just poke the pets so that wouldnt work.
Animist pets are kinda easy to work around if you know your CC or just 1 aoe dot and they are gone.

They also cost like 1 nuke to cast. So if Animist are dumb and stacking 15 shrooms and you throw 1 mez or 1 aoe dot, you just wasted a whole power bar for the Animist

You're getting hit by the verdant pbaoe not the shroom itself. The LOS check got reverted

That's can't be right. I was on top of a keep yesterday, Pilz was in a tower. He put his shroom army down. I made the mistake of getting close enough for a split second and ran away to opposite side of keep. I was obliterated within 10 seconds, no line of sight, 2 battlement walls in between the shrooms and me. They just kept casting on me.

I got a talking to once because my shrooms were hitting people in the keep in thid. As I stood there frozen by the GM, thurg pets came through the door and killed me. 😂

If you were in LOS as the first batch of spells hit you are going to recieve the 2nd batch no matter what

Animist shrooms need more LOS check. Right now they are exploiting this and it needs to stop.

so animists are only useful because they're broken? And because other classes have broken mechanics that makes it ok?

Some serious mental gymnastics just so your class isn't appropriately fixed eh. Doesn't even begin to touch on the abuse people who play the class use in keep and tower play.

How about FIX ALL THE FUCKING PETS GMs.

You do realize its near impossible to balance this? A Second LOS check would make all useless that are NON-Melee in everything but open field fights. The Animist pets would be the worst by far since they cant move and are ranged only. Half of Animist builds around turrets so the class would be pretty much useless if they coudlnt make any pets at all. And why would they if they were useless?

Of course my point is valid: if you do multiple los checks on pets, you do them on all pets - end of story.

Theurg ICE pets would be useless aswell, xept they can move, Ani shrooms cant

Animist is the most overrated class in DAOC.
Ofc the fnf turrets are kind of dangerous but not unbeatable or not to handle.
Shrooms are part of daoc, i understand that not a loved part in alb or mid. But plz stop to start 1 complain thread after another.
Anis got nerfed already, what else you want?
