Naming violation bans - Phoenix Freeshard

Never been banned for bad name, but if you go through the banned list on the forums, quite a few are naming violations.. I just gotta ask, especially because the average age demographic of DAoC players has to be over 30, why are there so many name bans? Who is calling for these people to have names removed? Why are bad words and inappropriate* names so vehemently perused? Is this just a power thing for the admins? Like, someone named Balsz was banned for naming violation.. really? same with Pornos... Porn is a bad word now? Is it not an actual profession anymore lol? I know neither of these individuals but I do find it strange...

Reading the rules helps. And the player named himself Balsz Deep.

Vile, or racist names including common swear words, anatomical references, racial slurs, sexual references as well as diseases and homonyms of these words Combinations of these words that produce an offensive result (e.g. Hugeaz, Tug McGroin, KneeGrow etc). Any and all drug references. Diseases includes Corona / Covid.

1st offense: Warning and renaming
2nd offense: Renaming and 1-day ban
3rd offense: Renaming and 7-day ban
4th offense: Renaming and 4-week ban
5th offense: Permaban of player

And no, it is not a power thing. Just the rules that you all agreed on when creating an account. You dont have to like them, but you have to stick to them if you want to play on this server. Easy as that.

I'm thinking the same - who is calling himself an adult actually with those childish names? I giggled about such things when I was in puberty - but that was 40 years ago...

Sometimes I think it's also how those playernames are combined with last names. I'll tell you right now that I've appealed people for having some gross last names. Yeah, I'm not a child who's never heard these words before, but that doesn't mean I want to see stuff like "X was killed by Dicks" or "Y was killed by Akike". It's not that hard to not be childish, disgusting, or a bigot when choosing a name, and adults should have no problem following that rule, and adults should expect other adults to appeal them when they're incapable of following that rule.

Question should be:

1. Why are people not able to read and follow rules?

2. Why do 30 yo adults name themselves "Balsz" or "Porn"? How infantile do you have to be? O.o

Sadly Uthred dont care and ignore this topic, informed him on 27th march 2020 about. Wrote 2 times in this forum about, but nothing happend, sadly. I feel offended by this name.
And till a GM run on Phoenix which ignore their own rules, i cant take this naming rules seriously.

The gamemaster didnt pick that name because of that guru. His name is a combination of two words. Sai and Baba. First part is a name, second part means either daddy and/or like owning in games in his language. That is the one and only reason for choosing that name.

We already answered you multiple times before as you seem to be the only one complaining about that name over and over again. So once and for all: Stop it or I will make you stop. Understand that as your final warning. If I ever read from you any accusations towards the staff not sticking to their own rules or any more implications that we tolerate sexual abuse, your journey on this server will end immediately.

1. Im not at private war, im very thankful for the work and time you and the whole staff put in phoenix!
2. Im donated for this project, from time to time. Not anymore though because of this reaction now.
3. I never hurt any rules but reporting players which hurt rules. And you want to permaban me? Because i wrote smth true on the forum? I´ve not lied or wrote any BS.
4. This is the first reaction to my claims so far, there was no answer. Not Discord, not forum so far. I´ve checked it.

5. I stop use forum now. Enjoy your power and hopefully you dont ban me because of this objectivly reaction.
