What are the best weapons for a Savage?

I've heard the Paw of Wulfen is decent because it's 4.0 speed.

I've also heard to run it with the crafted thrust weapon that is also 4.0 speed, but all of the ones on the market are 16.0 dps. I'm assuming they'd need to be 100% quality to get to 16.2?

Anyway, I've also heard people say to use Dragonfang as well.

So what's the current best combo atm? Thanks

i suggest to build a weaponless temp and use 4.0 ROG thruster/slasher with 95 lt proc

paw of the wulfen is really only interesting because of the lt proc which is btw lower than ROG lt

as savage you need alot lt to compensate for life loss of your buffs

Thanks. Sounds good. The LT procs really make sense.

Trying to get my weaponless template. Actually leveling up a BD to farm up plat.

For what its worth the feather weapons like Wulfen also have a higher proc rate. So while it doesnt hit as hard as a rog it will proc more often and the lifetap returns 100% health.

afaik proc chance is dependant on weapon speed so there should not be a difference
yes it might return 100% but lower dmg... in the end you gain the same amount of hp while dealing more dmg with ROGs

I believe feather weapons have 18% chance and RoGs 15%

I actually tested it a couple months ago and the proc doesn't change for faster staff. You will have the SAME amount of procs go off from a 5.0 and a 3.5 within a minute of attacks.

The test looked at 25 staff vs 39 staff, and tested a 5.5 player crafted staff, 5.0 sidi, and a 3.0 player crafted staff. The only thing that changed with the dps, which was higher (of course) with the slowest staff.

It doesn't work like this for weapon. Each proc as a base % that is then multiplied by the weapon speed.
Let's say the base proc % for a LT effect is 5% (I don't know the real value on phoenix)
on a 3.9 > 5*3.9 = 19.5% chance to proc per hit
on a 4.2 > 5*4.2 = 21% chance to proc per hit

at the cap 1.5s per swing, you hit 40 times per minutes (60/1.5), so with the 5% base proc chance your ppm will be 8.4 for a 4.2 speed (21%*40) and 7.8 for a 3.9 (19.5%*40).

Pretty much, however, the given proc chance is always for a weapon speed of 3.5. In the case of feather weapons with 18% it would be 18 / 3.5 * actual weapon speed to get the chance per hit.

so for a sidi 5.5 crafted or rog staff:
15/3.5*5.5=23.6% proc chance
For a sidi 5.0 staff:
18/3.5*5=25.7% proc chance
For 3.0 crafted or rog staff:
15/3.5*3=12.9% proc chance

so the difference would be:

15/3.5*4=17.14%
18/3.5*4=20.57%

though im not sure if those 18% apply to paw of the wulfen since it not not a TG weapon, not even a dragon weapon to be exact
on the other hand a ROG would proc 3% less but does 31.5% more dmg

Rog LT do hit for more damage but they have a lower proc rate, the healing is a bit lower and the resistrate is higher because of only being level 47 instead of 50 like a feather LT weapon.

As a savage you do not have access to Mastery of Focus so you can't get a Rog LT to level 50.

the healing should about be the same since the dd delves higher
does mof actually work for procs? thats would be an unfair advantage for all hybrids tbh

On Avergae the healing is about 10 HP higher from feather. I tested it with Tuscar sword(also 65 with 100% return) and other SB's like Naas or Tamy came to the same conclusion. 60% from 95 is 57. So depending on the proc damage etc it can vary. I mean the difference isn't huge on one proc, but I think with the higher procrate, lower resistrate and so on over time the feather LT will be more noticable.

Yes, Mastery of Focus works on everything that is magic related. weapon Procs, Style procs, Poison etc.

nice so NS can bump all their procs wtf
while archers got their moarcana nerfed ;( feels unfair tbh

how much higher is the resist chance for lvl 47 spells? i mean rog DD is 31% higher, does that not win over time?

Yeah back in the stealther forum I wrote about it and I also laugh at every NS not speccing atleast 2 points into MoF.

Each level is 0.5% more resist, so it is 1.5% morel for level 47. LT has also a 2.5% more base resist. So for level 47 LT it is 14% resist.

Well the Rog does more damage but it has less procrate and more resistrate. In my opinion that is why feather items are better because you can count on them more. In the end I don't use LT procs, either feather or Rog for RvR. Dot it is. It is all more a debate what you prefer more.

Yeah sometimes I wish my SB would have access to MoF too seeing some poison resists.
