One account is not enough for all the twinks

Like the title already says i love to play different classes and with the time i am getting more n more twinks. Usually in the past (live n other freeshards) i had all classes at 50 and equiped. Soo is it please possible to get a subaccount which is officially linked with the main account? So you still have complete control over the realm-hopping and dual-logging.

you can change realms after being logged out for 12 hours. Personally I think that is a little overkill, maybe they could change it to 3 or 6 hours

His suggestion is that people should be allowed multiple accounts, but that only 1 of them can be logged in at a time. They would count as "linked".

This means that it can't be used to abuse the realm hopping rules.

The real requirement is to allow more than 8 slots per player, so that a player can have a 50 in all the classes.

The same could be achieved by allowing a user to register multiple usernames per account. Each username would be allowed 8 characters per realm. Logging in 2 or more usernames for the same account wouldn't be allowed.

This server isn't even 1 week old and you start asking for more char slots? Wow...

OT: How about you see how well leveling and equipping all those chars works out (time and effort wise) and then check in with the staff (if they haven't answered here till then)?

My point is, I had all classes in my realm to 50 and equiped on Uthgard1, Uthgard2 and Genesis. On Live i had all possible classes on 50 and equiped as well. It is just a matter of time when i would like to have more charslots ^^

"OT": Tested leveling in the Beta. It is quite fast ^^ Equipping is another issue. But i saw my post to be forgotten. No Players, no mods, nobody replied. And this is the only thing i am worried about atm on this server. Everything else is great so far And I think they do much for the fun of the players. So i hope my request may be implemented

While this isn't a high priority issue, I have terrible alt-itis and would also like enough character slots to have at least one of each class. If more slots can't just be added, linked accounts sounds like a good idea to me, I am unsure of the technical limitations to that idea, however.

I would think it would be far easier to just add more character slots than to create sub-linked accounts.

I don't want to suggest anything that goes against the rules, but it seems like the account restrictions are intended to prevent botting rather than to limit the number of characters you can make. It's possible that you could make a second account with different credentials, and that if you only ever played one of the accounts at a time, it wouldn't raise any red flags.

Since account sharing isn't forbidden, and is left to the sharers to ensure they don't break the rules, you could have a friend (who doesn't play the game) make an account and you could "share" it with them. Again, as long as you only play one at a time, and don't realm switch within 12 hours (treating both accounts as one) then I don't think you would be breaking any rules.

I'd want to get the green light here first before proceeding with anything, but I think that fits the spirit of the rules. Or I could be out of line, and will get yelled at for this suggestion. But then at least you will know for sure...

afaik there is no way to advance the character selection screen with more slots (its hard coded). So one account can only have 10 characters per realm.

1.1 Multiple Phoenix accounts are not permitted.

There may only be one account per person. Measures are incorporated to detect multiple user accounts. This includes creating an additional Phoenix account when banned or suspended.

1st offense: Warning and all but 1 account will be deleted. The remaining account will receive a 3-day ban.
2nd offense: Permaban of Player

A perma-banned player is NOT allowed to create a new account! Do NOT lend your account to a permabanned friend.

If you play from the same household (example: husband and wife, father and son etc.) you must play the same realm. If you try to play different realms, it will be considered cross-realming.

So this post covers what I was getting at:

https://forum.playphoenix.online/viewtopic.php?p=25558#p25558

Imagine a scenario where you have a roommate, and you both like DAoC, but you only have one computer. You both make accounts, but never play at the same time. You have to manually coordinate realm switching to avoid either account getting banned. This is allowed under the rules.

My point is that whether it's a roommate, a child, a cousin, or any other kind of person, only you know whether that person actually exists. As long as you follow the rules for multiple accounts accessing the game from the same location (IP address) there shouldn't be an issue. That's what the linked post explains.

I personally won't have a use for more than one account, but if you expect to need more character slots, it looks like you have an option.
