Phoenix had some cool events previously but I'm not sure why there isn't more events. As of lately, there is just tons of zerging and keep taking. For example, I was on 2 nights ago during NA time and my guild had a keep claimed and literally all the albs that was in the frontiers was at the keep (77 albs on the keep and on /u it says 77 people in frontiers for alb). It's just sad that people do not break from the zerg. I did vote for new frontiers but I did not expect this much zerging and keep/tower taking. I feel now with new frontiers it has promoted more zerging and more keep/tower taking. I also feel that the increased amount of realm points, bounty points, and feathers that a player gets from the keep/tower is what is encouraging people to keep doing it.
If the staff wants to keep new frontiers the way it is then that's fine but please take into consideration other people that do not like zerging and keep/tower taking. I'm well aware of the small man areas but did you guys consider things like anyone can just go there? I've only had a few decent fights there but with the remaining fights we always had 8 mans adding, zergs adding, and others adding as well. Most of the time you never even find fights there because no one really goes there. I'm also aware of EV but really who goes there? The rare 8 mans? EV seems to be the place only for arranged fights.
This is why I'm asking if it's possible to add in more events every now and then in order to help promote more RvR. Is there any chance Phoenix could bring back some previous events like the 8v8 event, the 3v3 event (favorite), etc. I do want to mention about the one event Phoenix had where it was 8v8, 6v6, 4v4, 3v3, 2v2, 1v1 - it was a great idea but due to current population it was splitting up people so there wasn't enough people to do each one. I think it would be better just to have one event dedicated to either 8v8 or 4v4 or 3v3, etc. That way there will be more people to fight against.
I'm also not sure about this weekends event. I don't know how this is promoting RvR. Who wants to kill a GM when they can kill enemies? But hey who am I to complain, there's finally an event right? :p
One last thing. I know it's been mentioned plenty of times but I am one to agree with most people that the 12 hour realm switch timer is too long. Population has dropped, many people have gone to World of Warcraft, I just don't see the reason for having such a long timer. It really sucks to have to stick to 1 realm the whole day because you have to literally wait 12 full hours before you can switch. I also don't believe the timer helps to balance all 3 realms in population, if anything it actually makes it hard to balance the population. Giving us the chance to play other realms in the same day will balance the population on each realm since usually it tends to be zerg heavy in one realm. Not only that, but it will split people from having to zerg and keep/tower take.
I really hope Phoenix will take into consideration some of the points I made. I know some things are repetitive from what others wrote but I felt the need to express my concerns and I hope that there will be some changes in regards to RvR and the timer in the near future. And if not, I guess it is what it is. Thanks for at least hearing me out.
