Ideas menu for class balance tweaks

Here is a list of the most excellent of ideas you'll find for class balance tweaks. Feel free to use this list as inspiration or you can also implement them directly if you want.
The focus for these are to improve the list of classes and specs considered "viable" for good RVR groups. Also to bring some QoL and make some gameplay feel better for "boring" speclines.

Resist debuff - open up more damage types
Eld/Ench/Wiz/Sorc/Cab/RM/SM Change the 3 separate resist debuff spells to be 1 spell, e.g. 3 spells of cold/heat/matter -> 1 spell of cold & heat & matter
Change Bonedancer Body resist to be body & spirit & energy
Change Animist/Runemaster/Wizard Dmg and Debuff (10% value) spell to debuff all magic resist (does not stack with other resist debuffs)

Cloth casters - new baseline DDs: These will be lvl 47 max spell (same as Void Eldritch). This will greatly increase the number of classes and specs that can fit within a "caster train"

Spiritmaster, Spirit DMG, Suppression line
Bonedancer, Matter DMG, Suppression line
Eldritch, Energy DMG, Mana line
Enchanter, Energy DMG, Mana line
Mentalist, Energy DMG, Mana line; & Matter DMG, Mentalism line
Animist, Matter DMG, Verdant line
Sorcerer, Matter DMG, Matter line
Cabalist, Matter DMG, Matter line
Theurgist, Spirit DMG, Air line
Wizard, Energy DMG, Fire line

Enchanter/Spiritmaster - power battery
Spec line power tap and power transfer in Enchantments and Summoning

Bonedancer/Necromancer/Animist - pet and self durability at the cost of damage
Toggle spell that affects pets and self (15 sec cooldown)
-20% DMG taken, -20% CC duration, AND -30% DMG dealt

Eldritch/Spiritmaster/Theurgist - backup crowd control
Increase duration of ghetto AE mez up to ~45 sec (from ~32 sec)

Hybrids - CC reduction
10% stoicism

Full Tanks and Light Tanks
Toggle effect
+10% sprint speed but with increased endo consumption

Paladin - kind of like a healer
+50% Heal effectiveness chant, target group mates but not self

Paladin/Friar/Warden/Shaman - support you more
Purge other, target realm mate but not self (120 sec cooldown)

Healer/Shaman/Cleric/Friar/Druid/Warden - buff classes can be boring
Make spec resist buffs into a single spell (eg one spell for cold/fire/matter), spec lvl 35 for yellows, spec lvl 43 for reds
Level 50 baseline spell for blue resist buffs
New Bless/Curse spells in buff spec line, +5%/7%/9% damage reduction on friendly target or damage increase on enemy target for 10 seconds. Does not stack with other Bless/Curse.

Bump: particularly for putting the 3 resist debuffs into one spell, and the other baseline nukes that could be added.

I think you are being sarcastic. But no, it doesn't need to be insta. This suggestion is for more variety within caster dps teams, not for more straight power.

First ask yourself, why do we need these changes? Might as well make a new game.

I would actually be all for adding the catacombs classes instead of this if you want change. Now before you completely bash it and go crazy with the flaming of it, think about the logic a bit.

Reminder, I am not saying we need to add this, or it is a must, but I think there would be a way to add some classes with the customized tweaking to make they not so OP, i mean they customized everything from the hit box, the positional arcs etc, I am sure this could be done as well.

First, game is a bit stale and no one rerolls anything really, i feel a lot of people would reroll some of the classes, thus allowing the RR to even it self out a bit. Second, you would custom some of the classes to make sense.

Classes to add would be
Midgard - Valkyrie - just remove the buff shears and cone aoe spells and make just keep the 1 single target DD. I think the class would fit nicely.

Albion - Heretic, remove the aoe focus snare, and the reg focus snare pulse, remove the buff shear, and turn monster res into a 6 sec castable PR type resurrection instead with a cooldown (2min, 5 min? i dont know open to ideas there.) I would even not be opposed to removing the shield spec line, like warden has a shield and no spec line for it.

Hibernia - Vampiir - Remove the self class buffs ( allow them to be buffed by pots or other classes), remove random buff shear, make the HoT effected by disease, remove NPC dismissal, and both snare and mezz maintained spells and remove endurance tap. Allow the power tap due to not having power regen without doing damage, but make the spell a 700 range instead of 1875 an increase the cool down from 45 sec to say 2 min.

I know they made other changes to the classes in recent years, but I am talking about the classes from 2008 or so. I know vamps get this summon pet this now or whatever, this would be before that time frame.

Do not add these
You could theoretically add the Warlock, with the power pool increase, no cast speed gear, no spell range gear, etc. The warlock would not be as powerful as it was. But that would take some serious tweaking to have this class adapt. And as far as the bainshee goes, with the LOS pet spells adapted to the bainshee aoe spells it might not go through walls etc, but still I think too much for this server.

Again, not saying you should add, but there probably is a way to do it. Just think it would be better than these changes.

But if they did, have the PvP event again! haha still the most fun I have had in forever.
