after the new realm timer vote

please start to consider also some sort of RP bonus balancing for underpopulated realm(s).

what I see now is that a lot of people will be encouraged to join the realm with the highest number zerg going tower to tower. this will lead to overnumber even more this zerg against other realm(s)

if you plan some sort of RP bonus (in addiction to xp bonus just in place) this will at least even out a bit things, so the RP hungry will be more motivated to play the underpopulated realm instead zerging towers.

something like this maybe?

most populated realm have rp gain multiplier at = 1.0
second most populated realm (assume that has 80% the population of the first one) rp gain multiplier = 1.4
third populated realm (assume that has HALF the population of the first one) rp gain multiplier = 2.0

I mean population based on FZs population, not entire realm pop.

with a sort of progression like this

100 1.0
90 1.2
80 1.4
70 1.6
60 1.8
50 2.0

There already three independant and variable underpop-bonuses in effect...

type /underpop (or simply /u) ingame to see them

There's one each for EXP / RP / Gold+Feathergains

ok but i'm clearly talking about something more "heavy", that has some sort of punch to compete with RP farming in zerg keeptowering.

and with "consider" i mean of course to look on how population balance will be affected now with the new realm timer change overtime...

imo nonsense, 4 hours is not enough to wtj, that is the reason it was the lowest possible number to vote. If try to switch the action for this time (eu,na) is already over minus the rps you lose of the 4 hours you can not play.

edit: It perhaps only makes a difference if you can play all day long which is negligible.

i do not have all this time to play, so i'm not considering at all to even create a pg on other realms lol...

as i said, let's see how this change affects population on the long run.

Could we please consider a bonus for those choosing to homestead in one realm through the good and the bad. I am ok with the outcome of the vote but give some sort of bonus to those that remain in a realm a week or longer

The bonus is already plenty, when hib is underpop I get 1500-1700 rps for solo kills.

I have roughly 2 hours a day to play, 3 hours if I push it, sometimes a few more on weekends. I still voted for the 4 hour timer, simply because it was the lowest option. I would be really interested in how many of the people who voted for 4 hours left a comment asking for an even shorter timer. Has anyone heard if they will be addressing any of the comments, or publishing anything on the average of asked for times below the listed options?

i have never played anything besides midgard since release and there were no plans to change, yet i still voted 4hours simply because i believe the upsides overweighing the downsides for most people and it will in general be better for the server



funnily it has sparked a discussion of levelling a hibernia smallman in my frineds DAoC whatsapp group. When i asked: why is this discussion sparked NOW...noone of us can play outside of evenings, and as a team we strictly play on friday evening...4hours or 12hours makes no difference.
Noone could give a real answer, yet the interest to play another realm (and with new chars new enthusiasm grows) was fueled by this changed

Ofcourse it's not necessarily representative, but i really doubt it is going to hurt the server
