Naked Newbie Run Event in Albion! 3 November 16:00 UTC

I would really like to run another one of these. I thought it was a lot of fun and I did try to make it x-realm a little bit by having the runners head out into the frontier where they could be picked on by the other realms. The race had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, we didn't get a lot of participation.

Quick story interlude time:
After Phoenix beta ended last December, I went back to Uthgardt for the (roughly) month or so until Phoenix went Live. During that time, "The Knights Who Say Ni" and "We Play for Keeps" hosted a very similar event. They called theirs the Highlander Run Event, and basically it was set up as a race where only brand new, level 1 highlander characters could participate. I hope it's not gauche to post links to past events on other servers (and if it is, please let me know and I'll edit it out), but here is the original notice (and feedback):

Highlanders Run Event at Saturday, 29.12.2018 18:00 CET (< Uthgard link)

A lot of guilds and individuals put up prizes and such, so everyone got to participate in some measure.
The race started in North Black Mountains at Snowdonia Station and ended in Cornwall at Cornwall Station. There was no entering the frontiers, so it was strictly an Albion thing. There were 35 racers (including me!) who raced, but a lot more people were involved in filming, watching the racers, prepping the world, etc.

People from the guilds worked with the devs to get a starting grandstand, pendants, and event tents set up at the starting line, and the same kind of thing set up at the finish line. Each racer was given a custom item that (A straw) that we had to carry with us to the finish line and present to the marshal to confirm that we were allowed to race. I didn't get any screenshots of the starting line, but I do have some of the finish line.

The GMs worked with the organizers by disabling the teleporters and horses during the run (which took about 45m to an hour, IIRC). There were guild members that ran along with the runners both to make sure that no one was cheating by running into housing or Camelot, as well as to take videos of the event. I finished in 7th place and got a skill respec stone and some gold! Uthred finished 34th (Prolly not our Uthred )

This was exactly the kind of event I wanted the Naked Newbie run to be, only writ large. While I believe that I could lean on my Alliance (Federation of Albion) to help organize and conduct the race, in order to really do a 2nd Annual Naked Newbie run, we would have to get some assistance from staff to help take care of some of the logistics. Maybe something like this could be put together, but it would be nice to know if there is truly an interest.

I think it would also be a nice way for true newbies to get acquainted with the server and with Albion, as well as win some nice swag (stones, gold, crafted items, feathers, etc.)

What do you say, Albion? Does this sound like a fun activity, and would you participate (in some capacity) if we could plan something like this?
