Is it feasible to start with main character(not group friendly)?

Hey all,
I think I already know the answer to this but will it be mandatory to have a bank roll type character for your (insert solo type class)? I keep hearing about QOL changes increased drops, loot etc. Or will launch be all set groups and tons of matter Cabs, Necs, Chanters, BD’s, SMs? I understand it would be harder but it’s been nearly impossible in every other shard/iteration of DAoC, is there a chance it will be different here? I can’t do vent/discord type guild 8v8 RvR game play due to a disability, so primarily RVR solo...

I think it's MUCH more likely. If you have a solid supportive guild I think you can pull it off with the high value RoGs alone. No guild? That seems pretty tough imo.

There will be a tonne of ffa pve raids at the start, if you're a stealther just get on as dps. Also, not to pry but, if your disability is to do with speech you can always sit on discord and listen, or join a guild that plays old school and types. Obviously without voice comms you can't be 8v8 hard-core but doesn't mean you can't group

During Beta I soloed a melee character from 40 to 50 over a weekend. It is easily doable.

You can easily solo to 50 in a week or so playing moderately (time wise) given the task quests and the phoenix eggs that drop. I leveled a Ranger during beta this way solo without any help from an alt and it took about a week of mostly casual leveling. Assassins might be a little slower due to the hp regen time required, but remember regen is vastly faster here and gets faster the longer you sit.

Also you don't need a lot of money to get outfitted here given the high utility ROG drops and that most of the economy revolves around Phoenix feathers, not platinum.

Wow, thanks, everyone, for the replies. Great info, I should have mentioned that I missed beta. This sounds awesome. Now I just gotta pick a realm. Looks like they’ll be one less Chanter,SM, Matter Cabbie camping xp spots

I think it's a good idea to make a "PvE farming character" anyway.

It will get you in to raids easier, it will make the raid's life easier.

Imagine if we all rolled stealthers and expected to go raiding... It wouldn't end well!
