Any room for a casual player?

I'd identify as a casual player with a little history in Dark Age, played on Pendragon at release as well as on Uthgard and Origins a bit. I have some good memories as a Minstrel and a night shade..

My life right now gives me little play time and I'd need to solo a lot - craft while I'm at work etc. Would this server be friendly to that kinda of play style?

If you can use a computer at work it will give you a leg up.
But really I don’t think it matters if they don’t keep adding content that creates a higher character ceiling.
You should always be closing the power gap

This is the best casual DAoC experience available. Easy leveling, easy temping, easy to jump in.

I disagree with the others, the train pretty much has left the station.

Most player have their chars finished and have lots of money, and as a new player you will struggle to find groups as most will be doing high end content. For example, a good place to earn feathers is DS. But to get into a DS Group you need to be like RR5 and templated up to your ear. To have fun in RvR theese Days, you also need to be templated up to your ear. Raids are more infrequent so some nights you will not be able to do anything but solo farm oranges for some random drops.

They have nerfed alot of the "easy to do" content, which hurts us new players trying to get into the game. I'm even finding it hard to find a Group leveling up as a healing class. Especially since PvE on each realm is mainly a few FOTM classes, if you start with a class that's not on that list you will never get into a PvE farming group.

But if you can find a way to solo grind for about 3 weeks after hitting 50, I'm pretty sure you'll have a template and can start doing the game. But the time spent is NO WHERE near what the devs are suggesting.

With that said, it is still a good server and concept. But I thought you should know what you're getting your'r self into

Main thing is making a group friendly char, pref both for leveling and RvR.

Depending on time-zone/realm, feather raids are done on a regular basis.
But on Mid I've done sc'ing for people with full 99% gear, no TG chest. Feathers are NOT needed to have fun.
99 stuff is cheap, and on Mid I even do sc'ing at cost for strangers.

Sure heal procs are nice, but unless you plan to solo, you will likely not notice the difference.

So much of RvR is done in BG's, that you are very unlikely to feel inadequate.

So make a group friendly char, and you won't have a problem.

nononono that cannot be true
everyone knows that casuals really depend on a procc to decide the outcome of a fight /s
