Active Characters in RvR - Phoenix Freeshard

i had some spare time and was parsing the herald out of interest and made some simple chart out of it. Maybe some of you are into such things like me

some explanation to the used data points:
i use for each class the 48h view of the herald, as example: https://herald.playphoenix.online/characters/realmpoints?time-frame=last-48h&filter=shaman

- characters below level 40 filtered out
- characters below 5k rp/48h filtered out
- remaining rp will be summarized and divided through the amount of characters

Obviously it doesn't cares about toons, timezones and all the other stuff. And there is probably some errors in my script since i'm still working on the automated generation etc, so take the whole thing with a grain of salt.

Looks like cookie cutter, 8 man classes get the most RP?

For some reason I thought it would have been stealthers.

I'm surprised VWs are so high. Are they invited into Hib 8 mans on the regular?

I wouldn't really take the actual chart for any discussion as a base

Somewhat the average isn't the best value here, i will think about using a 95% quantile or median or just draw all of those things actually.

The VW looks in the raw data like a class a bunch of people play very active without a huge amount of newbros who test it, that explains a higher average rp for example. But thats more guessing around right now.

those are from today 2020-09-03 08 or 09 UTC.

Sadly the herald doesn't provide historic data as far as I know (but I grab those now hourly for perhaps future usage and can maybe make some before/after analytics from patches in the future).

100% required class for a Hibernian tank group. The typical 4x4 is Bard, Bard, Warden, Druid, VW, Hero, BM, BM/Champ.

100% required class for a Hibernian tank group. The typical 4x4 is Bard, Warden, Druid, Druid, VW, Hero, BM, BM/Champ.

What's their role? Peel or dps? or both?

This would be nice if you could have it on a longer period, whatever conclusions we can make on this data will be irrelevant cause the data is too small.

Every hib 8man seems to run this setup now. I honestly can't remember seeing a consistent caster debuff train past jan/feb.
Stale fighting the same 4/4 wwwwwww setups, with cloak design and player names being the only variation.
Can't blame though. An insane amount of utility/error compared to caster comps.

yeh, I grab those now hourly and will try to convert them to 24h stats over the weekend. I don't think we will have any usecase for that data until there is at a two weeks/a month backlog at least.

At least until start of next week I should get that on a website with a daily update I think.

The standard is actually double bard warden druid hero vw by bm/champ.
The vw is there for dps and the disease proc.. the hero peels while the other tanks kill.
You run 2 bard for the double demezz and interupts.

Yeah, nice analysis....looking forward to seeing what the data will show when taking in a longer period

first impression shows a few surprises imo, and also how there are too many stealthers

RP scores are widely useles imo, since timeplayed isn't available in the Herald
It would be nice to actually confirm that top-played classes (aka the favorites) are also ones getting good rp/hr, but population in RvR itself is the far more intresting stat imo.

i noticed there seems to be some recalculation ongoing in the herald from around 21/22 UTC -> 23/00 UTC, so the data at these data points look somewhat unreliable

yeh i have that on the list after i have reliable automated the current charts (its more about the automating then the charts itself). Basically its just summarizing the character count per realm per hour, but above issue would result in odd values around midnight.

I agree this chart isn't accurate regarding playtime (rp/hour) but it shows some interresting data about wich classes are underplayer and wich are overplayed.

Rangers are a bit overplayed these days (3rd class in hib) yet the 6th overall.
We'll see if recent changes on volley leads to a drop

Changes to Volley happened on the 29/08/20, this data is supposed to be from 01/09/20 or 02/09/20 so after the change.
