About the Phoenix server? - Phoenix Freeshard

Hi all,

I'm currently playing live servers at the moment and feel I need a change due to population decline and hoping to see more population on this server than the live servers.

One question, are we going to keep this server open regardless if another Freeshard opens up for example ''Orgins''. The reason I say this is because in the past Uthgard decided to delete all accounts and start over to revamp the server due to their population fell big time when Genesis came out. Is there a guarantee that this server will be successful and at least stay open as long as the live servers are alive?

If so I'm very interested in the PvE aspect of it and love that it's going back to the old way of levelling, (hope xp a little faster than Uthgard lol) but all in all I would be happy to run PvE/RvR raids on a realm if this server get's up and running. I like that Shrouded isle seems to be implemented already and really looking forward to seeing that once again being active. I really miss a lot of the old content that DAoC gave us back in the day and I especially like that Phoenix are adding a touch of their own with some new mobs but keeping it the same like old times.

Live servers become stagnant and Broadsword don't really seem to know what they are going with the game. The PvE content such as the Campaigns are awful and not enjoyable at all and population is at a all time low. So, if PvE on here going to be just as good as the old days of DAoC I'm sold! (Also looking forward to RvR as well)

The xp is about three times faster here than on Uthgard. That and the staff actually listen to suggestions and don't have a rigid viewpoint on daoc being like it was back in the day.

I cant speak for the future of the server on what they plan to do, but the community seems genuinely happy with the state of the server. Although its beta and just opened about 2 weeks ago.

OP, so far this server is a clear front runner for where most of this community will be playing come launch. The staff have listened to player suggestions and continue to keep an open line of communication with us. The current settings, remind us of 2003 DAoC but add a ton of QoL that didn't come until later - as well as some custom QoL added by the staff. The best part is that since leveling is quick, even if the server is not your cup of tea, you won't leave feeling you were robbed of your time (like say on Uthgard).
