Setting up a new account? - Phoenix Freeshard

I was under the impression this was free? However, when i login and go through EA it wants me to pay. If i try and just launch the game and type in my forum login and password it says incorrect account/password. I can't seem to get it running. What am i doing wrong?

You only download the client from EA...you sign up for an account on the Pheonix site

I guess I should have clarified. I downloaded the client from EA. I signed up and made an account on phoenix for this and to use forums. I think your supposed to use the same credentials you use to login into forum for the game right? But when i type in my phoenix/forum credentials its still saying wrong account / password.

You need to download the Phoenix client and run that instead of the Live client. Find it on the main page here.

Okay, so I've uninstalled the game. I re-downloaded here from the phoenix website. It updated on the launcher smoothly and goes to the login screen, but every time I login it says "account or password incorrect" still. I'm using the same one I use to log into these forums. So what's the deal? It specifically says to use forum credentials, and i can get in here, but not the game.

I missed the phoenix launcher i think. So I've redownloaded and am trying to do the phoenix launcher on step 3. It goes to download but immediately opens windows photo viewer and is blank?

Okay slow down.

Step 1) Download and patch Live client.
Step 2) Download and place Phoenix launcher into the Live client folder.
Step 3) Run Phoenix patcher.
Step 4) Check your email for a verification email from Phoenix and follow the link.
Step 5) Sign into Phoenix client with the same info as your forum account.

I got it working last night. Not sure what I did either. I uninstalled and redownloaded a third time and typed my info in again and it finally loaded.

You were running the wrong item. You opened the icon file instead of the actual launcher exe. The instructions were pretty clear, but I think you rushed it a bit. You shouldn't have had to keep uninstalling it, just drag and drop the files from the Phoenix compressed folder then run the launcher exe. Make a shortcut of the launcher to your desktop so you don't accidentally run the wrong one.
