Multiple accounts in same household

Full disclosure ... I have talked my young daughter into playing DAoC with me occasionally. We have two PCs in the house, so I log onto PC1 and she logs onto PC2. She does not play as much as I do, so my characters are leveling faster than hers. I wanted to log on to her account and put a few levels on her character so it would be closer to my level the next time we play. I logged onto her account on PC2 and played a little bit today.

Here is my question ... it is much more convenient for me to play on PC1, so can I log onto her account on PC1 and play her characters? I thought I remembered reading that the accounts took MAC addresses into account so playing two accounts from a single computer (PC1) is not allowed, even if I’m only playing one account at a time. I just wanted some confirmation or clarification before I do something (play her account on PC1) that could get us into trouble. I guess I’m a “ask for permission” kind of person as opposed to a “ask for forgiveness” person.

I appreciate the response.

Hi!
Please read and make sure you understand the same-household provisions in the rules.
https://playphoenix.online/rules
To your specific question, it is permissible for you to log on to your daughter's account on your computer so long as you are not violating the realm switch timer, and you aren't both trying to log into the same account at the same time. This provision falls under the account sharing in the rules. If you are both playing exclusively in the same realm and are making sure not to AFK for extended periods of time, you should be fine.

Thank you for the response. We are only playing on one realm and I would only be on one account at a time. Sounds like I’m good. Thank you. This helps.

Actually now I'm a bit curious on something myself though.
In the rules as well as here it's always written about the same household.
But what , if both persons do not share the same household?
Like if you wouldn't login both accounts at the same time and both players only play in the same realm , it would of course be considered account sharing. But would that kind of accountsharing be allowed or not?
Even the rules don't seem to directly state anything about that, when both players do not live in the same household.
For example when you sometimes see some people seemingly being online all the time you sometimes get to wonder if it's maybe a friend playing their account.
Somehow i don't seem to directly find anything mentioning that case in the rules?

1.3 Account security is the responsibility of the account owner.

Sharing accounts is NOT strictly prohibited but is done so at the player's own risk. The problem with sharing accounts is, that it makes it almost impossible to determine who is playing the account, and thus both players (and both their accounts) become responsible for any misconduct on either account. Be safe and just don’t do it.

Straight from the rules. Applies to every player under any circumstances. Doesnt matter if in the same household or not.
Only thing that is not allowed is creating more than one account on one PC, that is considered multiple accounts. Logging in an account of a friend or family member is not bannable.

Thank you for clearing that up. 😀
I really was wondering for a while, if account sharing itself now was legit or not.

Hello, i need some clarification too pls.

Ill try to explain my situation ,now and in the near future ( sorry for my poor english ).

Atm i play my account ( Fenork) on my PC ( Old-PC),created on that PC . So well done 1 account 1 pc . Sometimes my 7-y son play on my pc with my account, all ok.

In less of a month i will build up a brand new PC ( New-PC) , moving Old-PC in my son’s room.
At that point i want to create a second account ( i.e. Fenorkson ) for play with my son sometimes ( i suppose low lvl chars,he is only 7 years old).

So,in near future we can have this situation:

--Me playing with Fenork (account created on Old-PC) on New-PC
--My son playing with Fenorkson(account created ??? ) account on Old-PC

Main question is: where should i  create new account?Ive read that creating more than 1 account on 1 pc is forbidden. Should i create Fenorkson account on New-PC even though my son will use it on Old-PC?

Ty and sorry for language, i love play on ur server i dont want a ban

Well, if your Acc was created on the old PC, you should make your son's acc on the new one.
If you are both playing at the same time, please make sure that you(both or even just one) dont AFK for longer than max 10min. You have to be able to move both characters independently at any time a GM is testing you. And that you have to be on the same realm ofc.
