Log in issue - Quitting to desktop before character/realm selection

Hi guys, trying to play some Phoenix on my laptop while away from my desktop but am having some log in issues.

I have downloaded the daoc client and the phoenix launcher files have been placed in the same folder. Can use the log in box with the username field + password and enter my forum username and password all is fine > DAoC loading screen and bar reaches full but after this where I would usually see the select realm or character list the screen just disappears and then returns to my desktop? I have followed all troubleshooting methods I have seen on this forum and made Phoenix and DAoC exceptions to my Windows 7 firewall.

Any help would be appreciated to solve this issue as would love to play over Easter,

Phoenix requires additional apps on your computer; for 99% those should be installed and working already.
Some people might miss one or parts got damaged - especially for Windows Vista/7 users.

Did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem. I'm reinstalling now, see if it helps.

I am having the same issue. I am not sure what is causing it. The only thing I can think of is that DAOC live patched something and Phoenix server is not in harmony with it.

Hi All,

My friend just started and had the same issue. lucke06 was right, the latest live patch messes up the Pheonix launcher. Since my copy was updated weeks ago, I copied my DLL files and had him replace his with mine and it works! But some icons are messed up and the options button doesnt work in the character screen. I'm planning on just giving him my entire folder though.

Anyways, until theres a proper fix, you can just replace your DLL files with mine and you will get passed the loading screen. I zipped them up and put them on my dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mnkmzk4pnirgqgl/dlls.zip?dl=0

Installing your files over mine worked. Thank you sir!

I just installed the game and patched it today. I was having the issue where the game would just shut down before getting ot the character select.

The game would start loading and once it got about 75% done the sound would cut out and then the game shuts down.

Windows 10 64bit here
