Game freezing computer on start up

So i installed DAoC and ran it for the fresh live version. After that i sat threw the phoenix patch and once it was installed I typed in my information and attempted to log in, But when i hit login it puts the icon at the bottom of my screen on the bar, my mouse will disapear, and my pc freezes leaving me unable to alt tab or ctrl alt delete so i have to restart my system. Please someone help me solve this issue, i played daoc as a young boy and i would love to play this shard
