FPS Stutters

Hello, I just download the client and started playing the game (again, after almost 20 years ), but I'm experiencing an annoying issue. Every few seconds I have FPS Stutters that makes the game almost unplayable. I have, like all of us I guess, a very powerful computer, and a monitor that supports 2560x1440 resolution: the resolution I'm playing with. I also tried downgrading it to 1920x1080 with all the combination of window mode, and tried fiddling with the other graphic options, but nothing seems to change. Latency is perfect and so is my network. Anyone else experience this problem?

Go into your computers power settings. Make sure it's set on performance and not custom or power saving.

Thanks for the reply, but I play on a desktop computer.
Also, after 1 hour of playing, I found out that my problem is caused by moving the pointer of the mouse in game. If, for example, I move it fastly "drawing circles", the game just freezes until I stop moving it. So it's something with the mouse and the cursor!

Ah, well first off you do have power options on your desktop. In power saving mode it reduces the amount of power to your CPU, basically governing how hard your CPU can run. Second, I had this same issue early on in beta. It's the dpi settings with your mouse. It was so long ago I cant remember what I had to set them on (on mobile atm) but daoc doesnt seem to do well with high dpi mouse settings. Try lowering them, see if that helps

Thanks for your help. In the end I had to switch to another mouse, and now it works fine

I just wanted to add a new fix that I found. After finding the correct software for my mouse (R.A.T. 8), I was able to lower the "response" property from 1000 to 100. That fixed completely the issue without the need to change the mouse. Just leaving this here for future reference.

I had the issue earlier where left clicks were causing fps stutters. The solution I landed on was uninstalling the windows 10 update that I was forced to install this morning. I wish I could remember what the update was, but its worth a try if anyone is having the same issue.

I do have the same problem with low FPS in some situations (TG Raid = 30fps). Using an i7-4790k and a GTX1080ti in WQHD 144hz. The graphics card is only used for about 15-20% so is the CPU. No problem in any modern game.

Same issue with Logitech G5 by the way. Well I replaced the mouse by now but moving the mouse ingame caused the game to stutter. With another mouse there was no issue.
This is an issue with these kind of mice, you can find a lot of stuff regarding this online. Installing/updating the software did not help and in the end I just replaced it, as it was anyway an older mouse (now using a Razer Deathadder). I believe, however, I could have also fixed this by decreasing the polling rate in the logitech software. Please check that always first if you have strange suttering ingame while using the mouse.
