Having trouble downloading the client, every time i try it asks to remove the original game. Is this correct? The instructions on the website did not give me enough information to properly download and install. I am not the most computer inclined individual. If anyone has a step by step guide it would be greatly appreciated.
First, download the actual game client and patch it to current Live server settings. It will usually download by creating an Electronic Arts master folder with a sub folder Dark Age of Camelot. Phoenix webpage has the link to the game download at Broadsword. Don’t make an EA/Broadsword account- that is unnecessary.
Once the game has been downloaded and fully patched, proceed to step two.
Second, download the Phoenix files on the Phoenix website. Your download will have 4 files in it. Next, open file explorer and search for your Dark Age of Camelot folder. Open that folder, then drag all four files of the Phoenix patch into that folder. Accept any file overrides presented/warning you.
Third, double click the Phoenix icon file in the Dark Age of Camelot folder- it’s titled Phoenix.exe (NOTE- recommend you right click that file and create a short cut to your desktop for it for future ease of logging into the Phoenix server). This prompts the Phoenix patcher to activate, initiating your log in sequence. It may/will patch and restart a couple times on your first log in (and whenever Phoenix staff creates a new patch in future log ins)- this is normal. Once it’s fully updated and shows a log in prompt, proceed to step four.
Four, enter your Phoenix forum username and password in the log in prompt. Hit enter. It will start your connection to the Phoenix server and bring you to the character creation/choose realm page- you’re in!
Quick tip- Phoenix patcher drags attention to most antivirus software. It can remove your Phoenix files in the Camelot folder and quarantine them, suspecting them as viruses. Be sure to create an exception for your Dark Age of Camelot folder in your antivirus software.
Hope you’ll be able to log in! Apologies for the format and such- doing this quickly on my phone.
