Cannot write to debug.log

Title says it all. I've tried anything I could find on the internet. I've disabled all protection from my PC, I've done a fresh install after wiping the game and all of the files from my HD 5 times now.

Maybe somebody could correct me if I'm wrong, but to install, I patched the regular Camelot client, unloaded the Phoenix files into the Dark Age of Camelot folder, and then opened up the Phoenix launcher. Everything runs smooth until I hit the login button at which point I get the same error every time.

I promise i've been looking for a solution, for 3 days now. If somebody could come to my rescue because I miss this game I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thank you

Edit - I'm running this on Windows 10 Home

Hi!
A couple of things you can try:
  • Running the launcher as admin (Right-click on the program/icon, "Run as admin"
  • Disable your virus /anti-malware software. Some AV programs take a dim view of the phoenix launcher and you have to add an exclusion for it to work. See the discussion for specific instructions on how to add exclusions to some of the more popular AV products.
  • Solutions
For reference, other folks have seen this before too (and not just on Phoenix):

Good luck!

Well thank you all, I've done all of this now:

Ran as Admin
Delete Everything and try again
Disabled AV
Even found a Postcount comment and tried that solution (http://www.postcount.net/forum/showthread.php?199975-Could-not-write-to-debug-log) with no luck

I guess it isn't meant to happen. This has been an issue for me since Uthgard where it suddenly started doing this after a day of playing. Haven't been able to get on since then so I gave up. Thank you all for your help anyhow.

Where is the debug.log file located? I have seen issues on occasion where a program has trouble writing to something that is under the "Program Files*' folder. Can you try making a new folder on your hard drive with a different name like c:\games or something and then try doing the install there?
If you already are not installing it under the Program Files folder then never mind.
