@ Ashok: Issue: Game client stuck on loading screen / "Hit ESC to exit game"

This problem persists every time I login; I cannot get to the character select screen, loading bar stops at 95%. The solution, every time is

1. to back out via ESC
2. reload launcher fresh
3. select another character page
4. load game successfully
5. back out via ESC as there are no characters on this page
6. reload launcher fresh
7. select character page 0
8. Game will load to character select screen

I have re-patched the game via live patcher; reset my modem; tried Express VPN; ipconfig /flushdns; ipconfig release and renew; reset modem (again); reinstalled game fresh.

I have had discussions with others in game who continue to have this problem. Is there something we can try that we haven't or is this on your infrastructure/software end and we just live with it?

Try:
Login.
While the client tries to connect in loading screen, go back to your desktop and login again to create a 2nd session.

(If it works, don't forget to close client #1

)

These issues have something to do with the DDoS, however after Sunday there had been in change in the background how the clients connect in order to mitigate any incoming DDoS attack.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue tonight with a fresh install (new player).
I confirm the double session trick is working for me.

Yes the 2nd session trick works some times, it will eventually get you through. The constant server error that is disconnecting people after being logged in for 15-30 minutes is worse. IMHO the need to open 2 sessions too log into the game is probably just as bad as the DDOS attack your trying to prevent and then to get DCed after just a few minutes of being in the game. Well I am taking a break and hoping you find some better solutions and fixes (Frustation wins out this time) Sorry i have no ability to help you solve the issue.

None of the tips working for me, keep being stuck at 95% new player here, oldschool daoc veteran, i might try reinstalling everything >w<

Have you downgraded?
Open your daoc install folder. There should be a file called PhoenixFixer.exe , run this (may have to run as admin) and select the downgrade option. Let it finish and restart the Phoenix Launcher
