What's going on out there in big boy rvr?

I'm curious what is out there.

What about solo rvr? What is going on in solo rvr?

I'm asking because I am testing. But I want an idea of what it is like out there and what kind of classes do well, are wanted??

You wonder what is fun in big boy rvr, group and solo, what is needed.

Is it tank heavy group? Bomb group? How is the stealth game? XP ganking worth doing?

There is almost no RvR atm. Everyone is claiming fast 50 will lead to impressive RvR, yet everyone is exping 10 chars and running epic dungeons.

Just the usual "8vsEverythingwhileroaminglevelspotsinthefz"-nicefighter-stuff.

See I wondered about this. I have always kind of been familiar with the "I'm 50, now what?"

I actually do like to rvr but I like my rvr to be that which gives me a chance to win but not easy wins.

I like fast, I like solo, I like group. But not group with idiots vs set groups that own us over and over.

If there was a 50 bg, I bet it would be active.

Please keep in mind that the people that are already actively RvRing are those whose primary focus is in fact RvR, so the current situation is in no way representative of what RvR will be like for "Pugs" and "casuals" once the server has been live for 2-4 weeks.

A level 50 BG is not in the cards, sorry - we will however add certain incentives and mechanics to hopefully help create a more casual RvR experience by creating hotspots in certain zones and around keeps, with added significance to relics and more.

Yeah take your time. Start an Alt, try to hop into PuG's when you can. I see a ton of people in /lfg asking for spots in RvR. I just assume someone scoops them.

This sounds good. I wasn't asking for a 50 bg but I assume, probably correctly, that it would be busy if it existed.

So my question is, why would it be busy and big boy rvr not as busy?

The thing you mention here might help to get people out there.

Our group is forming from scratch, with 6 of 8 so far, so we'll be out there eventually. Current, our "planned schedule" is to be on Saturday-Monday and Wednesday evenings 8pm-11pm ET, but many of us will be on more frequently than that even.

Other than the points Galahad mentioned, I think there's also the excitement of not just PvE raids, but specifically Shrouded Isles raids. I've been salivating to get in on a TG raid! I'm sure there's simply a huge sense of exploration on the server right now.

But we're having a blast so far!

You said it. It's been so long such us classic boys have been in SI. I went on a TG raid the other day - was so much fun. A lot of people are just enjoying PvE for once/getting gear/lvling alts (something I haven't enjoyed in DAoC in a long time).

There's definitely people out their RvRing though - I seent it. ^_^

Haha IKR. Well, I mean, it's a beta test - wouldn't imagine it would be fun for everyone. ^__^ Guess I'm just glad to see things develop and feels good to be in SI (scripted or non scripted).

As long as people remember that everyone likes different things. Some want to just RvR, some want both RvR and PvE, and some just want PvE.

Let people enjoy what they want and the game will do well. The issue I see is people in game doing RvR telling the people who happen to want to PvE to go play WoW.

Do what YOU want to do and leave others to do what THEY want to do. =)

And the amount of button presses have nothing to do with it BTW, some people just like different things.

No idea, never get any invites to rvr during my time slot anymore. Im a casual who likes pvp, but i guess being a certain class is not helping(bm). Also i do see lots of people rvring but it seems to be the same people and from what i see they only run with the same people unless they are missing that specific class as that person didnt show up today.

Sure i can make a group but i have no idea what im truly doing to lead and if i mess up i will just be ignored by other rvr as he sucks do not invite him or join.

Also good laugh about join us we run so and so days. I have and got kicked out because they wanted guildy, cant blame them just find it odd to be invited then kicked out.

I hope something is done to bring more into rvr or you pro rvr’s start inviting others but i doubt that based on the posts i have seen and in game attitude in the few groups i got into. Hope this changes in live.

It's still relatively early. The more casual people aren't 50 yet. The 50's now are the guilds that are pre-determined. They won't be running PuGs. Wait a few weeks and the more casual people should start popping up.

Zerging will become a thing in due time. Keep/relic raids should be a thing in the future, again, once each realm has more 50's.

Have to remember it's still beta too - a lot of casual players aren't going to sink a ton of hours into getting 50 and RvRing when they know a wipe is inc. My casual friends got lvl 20-30 and were basically like, "Server seems cool, I'll be back for launch." If the turn out for beta is any indication, I'm sure launch will have a nice sized pop.

I hope you all are right. So my options right now are to level more(lol i really don't want to anymore) or wait till live since rvr is not going to happen or very little in beta from what Is being said.

Guess I will come back when phoenix goes live. Enjoy the beta i did.

It's called the elitist click, plenty of casuals have skills just like our 8v8 chums, only problem is your not in the click. So moral of the story is just like in real life, it's not how good you are, it's who you know.

I leveled with a merc friend to 50 on Uthgard, He got to 50, he got nicely temped, he tried for a week to get some groups. I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN.

I don't think the solution to this is forcing people to group. The solution to this is making solo and small man both viable and fun. Also BGs, events, extra rp areas to concentrate the fighting. Add your idea here.

This is why we need to make the bgs active and fun.

Even 34 isn't that hard and it could be fun to bg it up with rps off and xp off.
