I was a little underwhelmed with the sm. Nothing higher than 1500 range and no aoe damage to spam.

I’m thinking sorter or eldritch would be really good.
Generally not a healer player.

I got a cleric to 41, reaver to 40, inf to 25. Last event I got a sorc into the 30s.

cleric was great except when i had impatient people that wouldn't wait for buffs and resists

reaver super fun esp when i got buffs, in a good melee group i was wrecking stuff

inf was in an inf-ns-minst trio and it was tremendous but of course that's a specific thing

Big classes that i saw wrecking things were runies, cabs, sorcs. so yeah having some nearsight/bolt mez seems to be important at higher levels. at lower levels everybody's speed is so slow that they just gravitate to the town so IDK if it's that important. at higher levels being able to stretch out is super key

i think i saw maybe 1-2 elds the whole day, i agree that it would be fun and good, idk

in autogroups the support is often missing. so i would play a support role. Shaman would be great, heal-lin, buff-line and dps-line what ever u get in autogroup, u can spec accordingly. Quite similar with healer, either for healing or for cc.
#1: Shaman
#2: Theurg (huge range, cast pets, kite repeat. great for everything except against animist in houses.)
#3: Valewalker. They hit hard and can cast lifetap. Lots of fun.

For premades:
Savage with buffs endu and heals is awesome.

Shamans are fun up until lvl 35/40ish then it becomes a ball ache. Groups will target you much quicker. got mine to 50 but the last 10 levels were horrible.

Bard is pretty much the most effective class in the event overall, if your definition of effective is what it brings to a group (and not just ability to AoE tag everything which seems to be what you're actually talking about...).

You can have a bard + any 4 other classes in the game and you are in a very good spot already.

Were you in autogroups, solo, premade?

I made my 2nd SM during the event and went with a split spec (at 50 it's 41 supp 35 dark) and I loved it. We played heal sham skald thane SM and it was surprisingly good.

You get ae dex/qui debuff, ae dtr/con debuff, a 1+ min single mezz, root, magic resist debuff for your nuke with no variance (was 3 shotting casters at 50, 4-5 shotting tanks as only nuker), demezz, intercepting pet that can peel for you, Life transfer to heal when you are oop, decent delve pbae, etc.

You do get screwed by range, but that's every caster without NS, just gotta be smart on inc.

There was so much NS in this event.... Even as a BM got NS so many times, made me laugh. At least Aoe NS doesn't exist lol.

Too many pugs without bolt range mezz or ns& no bard I guess
Sorcerer was much less painful
I don’t see how you were 3 shorting casters or 5 tanks

My 47 spec sorcerer couldn’t do anything near that with the spec dd

30% debuff on people with no resists = you nuke vs 0% resits all the time + red intel buff = good dps

Well since I’m in pug (except one time) I really don’t see buffs often and debuff enemy body even less

Even if you were hitting for 500 a pop (which you weren't, not using a baseline DD, even w/ 0% resists), you're not three-shotting anything that has buffs and is equal level.
